The Brother MFC-7860DW AIO Monochrome Laser Printer is mostly appropriate for small-medium size offices that require a printer equipment that can be able to fax, copy and scan as a standalone printer aside from it's typical printing capabilities. It highlights a nostalgic design based from its predecessors, and a reliable performance that Brother has definitely improve.

More likely, this model quite resembles the design of Brother MFC-7460DN. But aside from having similar key features, you'll still distinguish 7860DW by its 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet, Wireless 802.11b/g,
33.6K bps Fax Modem and a fax memory of up to 500-pages. It also has a 35-page ADF for multipage scanning, plus a duplexer that easily flip sheets of paper for automatic double-sided printing feature.
With a dimensions of 15.9" x 15.7" x 12.4" and weighs 25.6 pounds, that's not too bad to move around on every corner as you pleased. A pull drawer located at the bottom can take 250-paper sheets, in addition you can also add extra 35-sheets in the ADF when printing from the scanner. There's also a manual feeder at the center console which accepts envelopes, executive and custom sizes.

This MFC printer doesn't come with an available extra paper tray for capacity expansion. With a recommended maximum monthly duty cycle of about 10,000-sheet per month, this one should be enough for small offices that require a volume of printing task not exceeding around 30+ pages per day.

Its LCD control panel has 16 characters / 2 lines, with shortcut buttons dedicated for certain features that most users often access on a printer. These easy buttons include quick access to fax, scan and copy, plus a number pad for dialing fax numbers, and an additional 8 speed-dial buttons. There are also functional buttons for adjusting fax image resolution, resizing (enlarge/reduce) the dimensions of files to copy, and a button for duplexing feature.

The only noticeable drawback of this model is that it lacks a memory card reader, perhaps Brother may have predicted that users will seldom print images from this printer considering that it's a monochrome. For the consumables, in-box you'll find starter brother toner cartridges and a DR420 drum unit. All in all, MFC-7860DW makes itself a best match for small-medium size businesses with moderate printing needs.
