Basic printing needs, a thing from which we've been used to, but actually that's a long while ago. Printer consumers, if not about 80% maybe at least more than 50% are opting for a printing buddy that can work as an all-round printer. Value-wise, it is more cost efficient and convenient to have an all-in-one printer, rather using individual machines for each task.
From basic functionality, we go to basic features, before a wireless networking interface is optional for a printer, wherein you have to purchase it separately if you require wireless printing. Now, most of the latest printers, whatever brand may be, WiFi support became an essential feature. With that, apps and similar features emerge along with it, one of which is the ability to print over a network from a WiFi-enabled mobile device.
Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print are two of the most noteworthy app to mention, but don't limit yourself as there are more available apps out there. While there are printers that already support such app, for example, Epson has Epson Connect, and HP comes with HP ePrint.
The requirement to print from any mobile device has become substantial to most printer consumers, count myself on the line. Although wire printing is still supported, it's much better to have a printer which can be connected to your home network, especially if you've got a lot of PC or laptop to use for printing.
Nowadays people are getting used to mobile phones and other WiFi-capable devices like tablets and laptops. Hence, the demand for a printer that supports printing from virtually anywhere, whether that's a single-function or multifunction printer, consistently grows from the recent years. It's not surprising though, I mean if you have a wireless network at home, then why go for a printer that only works for wired printing, makes sense right.
Although there are times that consumers care less about the features as long as they get a printer for a very low price. But do you know that typically a cheap printer can accumulate much spending and expenses in the long process, due to its consumables? Bargain equipments are really eye-catching, with no questions ask they will just buy it, then afterwards complaining about the expense of purchasing replacing its consumables such as laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges.
Price is a considerable factor only if a printer is boasted with really nice features, enough to say that it is worth the value. Especially on our time now, people tend to demand for more, hence we need to pay more.
