hp laser jet
If you been experiencing printer errors with your HP LaserJet, well then let's just say that a machine will always be a machine which is bound to carry errors. However, for every problem there's always a solution, all you have to do is learn its language so you can easily come up with the right solution. Here's a list of common laserjet error codes with some tips to troubleshoot or at least identify the cause of error for you to create the most possible solution.

Note: EC - Error Code, and the number the appears next to it, is the code number.

EC02: Switch On Problem

It appears that your printer took more than 3min than the usual time to power on. Loose cable connection, insufficient power voltage from the outlet, and unstable communication between the printer and your PC are some of the most common cause of this error.

EC11: Paper Run Out

It literally means that your printer runs out of paper, or more likely it will. If you just reloaded some sheets and still experiencing the same error, it may be possible that the sensor arm of the paper tray is the one responsible which means it's damaged. Aside from the sensor, you can also check the paper cassette or PS2 flag if there's any damaged.

EC14: Unrecognized Toner Cartridge

Improperly installed or seated laser toner cartridges may result to this kind of error. Also, installing substandard printer consumables may lead to this issue. Always use  genuine cartridges like HP 128A toner for your printer to avoid problems. If you're aware of the switch actuator, or either the right hand tabs of the toner cartridge, you may check if it's not bent.

EC22: Configuration Error

Possible causes are improper configuration for the computer or the printer, and damaged I/O cable or port.

EC30: PS Error

This error refers to a postscript firmware problem. In order to put back your printer in shape, you'll need to get a new firmware chip for your printer.

EC40: Transfer Error

This usually means that there is a disconnection between data transferring from your PC to your HP LaserJet printer. However, it can be rectified if you check on the MIO card. It should have no defects.
