Dell C1660w Color Laser - Affordable Printer with Quality Toner Cartridges

Dell came up with a new model of color laser printer, the Dell C1660w Laser Printer which uses LED laser-like technology. It is enticingly affordable for a small office coloured printer, but the catch is you have to pay double for its toner cartridges consumables. It is a fair enough trade-off since you definitely get what you paid for, as the quality and output are indeed superior. The Dell C1660w is leaning towards light-volume printing demand and works suitably well for small offices and professional individuals requiring a color laser printer with decent speed and features.

Regardless of the printer's costly laser toner cartridges consumables, the output quality is of par, both in plain text and graphics. Since it's dedicated for small working environments, the paper handling capacity is greatly reduce to a minimum of 150-sheet main input tray, while the output tray can handle a maximum of 100 sheets. If your office requires Duplex (double-sided) printing feature, then better drop this off your list as it doesn't support duplexing, however there's a dialog prompt that will guide the user on doing the same process with instructions on how to insert pages on the printer.

Connectivity interfaces are modest, the Dell C1660w supports USB and WiFi connectivity options for printing virtually on the cloud. In addition, the printer also supports WPS, plus a blue LED indicator that notifies user whenever the printer is connected to a wireless network. It features a two-line LCD display with some typical five control button panel below it. The printer's display although not a touchscreen one, can still be helpful as it provides system status and prompt which includes a notice about the toner cartridges whether their almost half way full or need to be replaced.

Dell rated the printer with a print speed of up to 12ppm (pages per minute) for standard black printing, and 10ppm for color printing, both rates are applied on A4 and letter size documents. Users don't have to worry about the laser drum unit, as it is a lifetime unit, but replacing it is allowed. But if you want to save, then spare your money from purchasing replacement drum unit, and do all the spending for its laser toner cartridges. Just to remind you, they're definitely expensive. 

If you want a color laser printer in the office, that can offer both quality and reliability, then Dell C1660w offers a nice speed, printout quality, handling capacity and it is a modestly priced unit.
