Brother Introduced Three Monochrome Printers : One Single-Function And Two MFC With Toner-Save Mode

Brother recently introduced its latest addition to its wide range of printer equipments, three new monochrome laser printers were released in India. These include one single-function which is the Brother HL-1111 and two multi-function centres, the DCP-1511 and MFC-1811. As a sneak preview of their features, here are some of the details we gathered.

Brother HL-1111 Mono Laser

Starting with the HL-1111, a mono laser type that comes with a quoted print speed of up to 20ppm (pages-per-minute) and is basically capable of printing alone. Limited to a USB 2.0 host for wired setup, featuring a dust-resistant twin rollers that is very much useful for preventing paper jams. Although the said feature is also available with the other two printer included in the set. Econo-mode or toner-save mode is one of the highlighted features the HL-1111 has to offer.

Brother DCP-1511 MFP Laser

Next is the DCP-1511, one of the two multifunction printers that offer 16MB memory capacity. Well it seems that these three only supports wired printing through a USB 2.0 host, no further information regarding optional connectivity interfaces upon writing this post. Print speed is exactly similar to the first one's rated speed, the DCP-1511 is expected to deliver quality B&W prints at 20ppm. Since this one is a bit larger than the HL-1111, aside that is also support toner-save mode, it's also capable of poster printing for large-scale documents. Its printing functionality has nothing significant to offer, while its copying supports N-in-1 or multi-page in one sheet. This allows 2 or 4 random pages to be copied in a single A4-size sheet, plus ID card copy function that produces one page printout with both sides of a card copied at once.

Brother MFC-1811 Multifunction

Lastly is the MFC-1811 also a multifunction and offers all the basic features you'll find with the DCP-1511. It's quite disappointing that these three offer the same print speed, not even a single one exceeds the others. Users are also allowed to send scanned images/files directly to email, which I may add to DCP-1511's additional features. Not pretty sure if Fax function is available for the later, but the MFC-1811 obviously supports this one with a modem speed of 14.4 kbps.

In terms of supplies, these three printer might not be able to share the same model of replacement Brother toner cartridges. The size and built of each three are distinctively different, perhaps their consumables may differ as well.

This new range of printers are said to deliver efficiency in term of affordability and reliability, to meet the printing demands of Brother International's Indian customers. The company aims to provide more new laser printer in India to suffice the demands for the laser category in Indian market.
