Supplies Required for Brother HL-3070CW Printer: Brother DR-210CL Toner and Drum Cartridges

Brother DR-210CL Toner and Drum Cartridges
Last 2009 Brother introduced one of their compact work-group laser printer which is the HL-3070CW. It wasn’t poised to replace any previous model. What it markets is its literally small size and built yet with features suitable for business use.

Albeit it looks stout the unit is actually heavy at 41.9 pounds, but it’s not a hindrance to place it on a shared desk space. The HL-3070CW’s relatively light weight makes a good fit for small-to-micro offices that would like to conserve spaces in order to make room for other equipment. It’s also considerable to use as a personal printer and will make a good companion with your desktop computer.

We’ll have more of its specs later, because what we intend to provide right now is all about its needed consumables or supplies. The first thing you need to take note is the model of its cartridges and imaging drum unit. Brother HL-3070CW uses four color Brother DR-210CL toner and drum cartridges. Each item can yield a maximum of 15,000 pages with an approximate cost-per-page of .80 cents for every print.

According to some users, the shelf life of a toner cartridge may last from 24 to more than 36 months. But actually, to our own experience, we’ve stocked a few toners for our Brother printers since we want to keep some spare while the price is really low. Money-wise it’s a good strategy. Then after a year or so, some of the cartridges are still working while others had some defects which are toner-related, but not faulty. We still manage to use them eventually after moving the cartridges to a different stock room where the temperature is much compatible for the supplies.

Furthermore, although this post mainly talks about Brother supplies and printers. We just like to add a short detail with relates to laser toner cartridges. Early before one of a printer manufacturer in the print industry discover that such consumables won’t actually expire. They gave their products an estimated shelf life of about 2.5 years, given that the item is not yet open and still intact in its packaging.

So now that we’ve discussed a lot about its required consumables, let’s go back to the printer’s specs. Maybe you get interested on getting your own personal printer and might consider this model.

The HL-3070CW aside from its really compact and useful features also offers a printing speed of 17 pages per minute for both monochrome and color. It’s not that fast to be considered but not bad at all for a personal printer or for a small office. The unit has a 250-sheet main input tray with a 1-sheet manual feeder. If you’re looking for a printer with duplexing feature, well this is not an option for you.
