Refining Your Laser Printers Corona Wire

For Brother printer users are you familiar with the components of your equipment? Let's say the Corona Wire which can be found from a laser printer, have you heard of it, or do you have any idea about this component.  The Corona Wire is a charged wire in a laser printer that draws the toner off the drum onto the paper. It must be cleaned when the toner cartridge is replaced. It's a component of your laser printer that performs a vital role in the process of printing. 

To make it more broad, the main role of the corona wire is to transfer the toner onto the paper from the laser printer's imaging drum. To be able to do this,  the wire is releases charge onto the paper that causes to attract the toner into the printed material. If the corona wire of your Brother laser printer is not working properly, then it may be damaged that will cause your printer to stop from working.

Whenever you noticed some signs which indicates that the corona wire is damaged or may not be clean, you should know how to handle and clean this component. First what are the signs that may indicate a dirty corona wire, it could be spots on printouts, unreadable prints, and opaque or light prints. To help extend the life of your Brother printer it's a good thing you know how to clean each and every component of your equipment. 

 

If you're about to replace your empty laser toner cartridges, then make sure you won't forget to clean the corona wire at the same time. To clean this component, you need to push the front release button of your Brother printer then pull the printer cover towards you. Now it would be easy for you to remove the Brother toner cartridges and the imaging drum of your printer. This first step is actually the same as when you're replacing your printers toner cartridges. 

Next step would be sliding the blue tab element to the left most side of the printer and then back to the right most side, repeat this process for more than 3-4 times. Some model of Brother printers have  a green color tab and others are blue, so it depends on the model of your printer whatever the color of the tab may be. You can also a small brush appropriate for this type of cleaning to dust off the toner build up inside the printer.

After all the necessary cleaning process, you may now reinstall the imaging drum of your printer, by aligning the tab lines and the arrow of the imaging drum. Improper aligning may result to printing problems that you don't want to experience. Reverse the first three steps to reassemble your laser printer back to normal, and this will ensure your printer and its corona wire to work as good as new.
