How to Clear Ink Cartridge Missing Error Message with your HP OfficeJet 8000 Printer

More often than usual, this error occurs when a recently installed ink cartridge on the HP OfficeJet 8000 printer is defective. The message that will appear on the screen may indicate a missing or damaged cartridge right after the replacement. Another possible reason is maybe you have installed an incompatible model which won’t really work with your unit.

Error Indications

• The LED indicator for each color of HP 940XL ink cartridge is blinking. 

• The unit won’t print even if it’s turn ON and has no paper jams. 

• An error message appears on the display after installing a new cartridge. Check the items you installed

Replace what’s missing

If the item is fine and still full of inks, reseat it back to the machine. Perhaps there’s a miscommunication between the contact from the cartridge and its carriage and re-installing it might solve the error.

Just repeat the steps above with the other cartridges having the same problem. Then close the cover and restart the printer.

If it doesn't resolve the problem, perform a quick printer reset by unplugging the unit from the outlet for less than a minute. Plug it back afterwards and press the power button to turn it on.

HP OfficeJet Pro X-Series: A New Range of Business Inkjet Printers

Hewlett Packard Co. recently announced the released of their latest range of business inkjet printers. At the event held in Barcelona, entitled "HP Fall", four OfficeJet Pro X-series range of printers were introduced to the crowd. The new series includes two MFC-Multifunction Printer and two Single-Function Printer, which will be out in the market in Spring of 2013. 

These four new business inkjet printers, the X-series, is geared with the company's cutting-edge PageWide Technology. The science that gave birth to a single unit that contains more than 42,000 nozzles by combining 10 print heads as one. With this technology, billions of ink drops per second are fired by the printer onto the surface of the paper, shooting at an amazing print speed of 70ppm (pages per minute). Consistent performance and speed, whether you're printing a full text file or a coloured image, you'll still find it excellent, and did I mentioned that the ink from your printout will only take less than a second to dry. 

With HP's latest "General Office" mode, the noted 70ppm print speed is achieved for prints at 600dpi resolution setting. Whereas, switching to a higher resolution of 1,200dpi will put your print speed at the back of the line hitting 42ppm. The speed from a printing mechanism such similar to laser printers which are quite abstruse, will only be incomparable to the maximum print speed of HP's X-series range of printers.

Fix That Clogged Ink Cartridges The Easy Way

Inkjet printers as we all know uses inkjet cartridges, and that's a fact that every printer user knows, but not everyone knows for a fact that the nozzle of every ink cartridges may clog. This problem normally arises on areas with low humidity, particularly on tropical and desert countries. If you live on one of these countries, it is not surprising that you often experience clogged nozzles with your printer's cartridges.

One way of combating this problem is by placing a humidifier into the room from where you keep your printer. By using a humidifier you'll keep the balance of moisture that will help prevent your printer's ink cartridges from clogging. But you should be careful of using a humidifier, as it may sometimes cause excessive moisture to the room which may lead to another printer problem which is paper jam, possibly because of using moist papers when printing. 

Aside from the reason of having low humidity, a printer that has been stocked or rather left unused for more than a month or two, can also be a possible caused of having clogged ink cartridges. Even HP printer users do experience this kind of problem with their HP inkjet cartridges. Good thing there are simple ways that you can try in order to get that clogged cartridge working as good as new. Be careful of doing this, as it can be really messy and somehow complicated if you don't focus your attention to what you're doing.

First, you need to take out the clogged cartridge inside your printer. Then prepare some paper towels or old newspapers to prevent ink spills from staining on the place you're working. Get some hot water and place it on a bin or tub (with a flat surface) just enough to sink about less than half of the cartridge. If you're ready, put the clogged cartridge on the hot water by facing down the part where ink comes out, then let it rest for several minutes. 

After a few minutes, or once you notice that ink comes out from the cartridge then it's a sign that the method is definitely working. It will take about 10-15minutes most probably before the ink moisten and comes out of the cartridge, otherwise you have to wait until the process takes effect.

You'll know when it's done if the clogged cartridge releases some ink. Now take it out of the tub then carefully dry it off, make sure you'll left no damp or moist part before you re-install it on your printer. Once the cartridge is totally dry and ready, turn your printer on and install the cartridge back to its slot then try printing a test page to see if it's now working.
