World's Largest 3D Laser Sintering Printer From Dalia University Of Technology

Three-dimensional printing technology is sure a big thing in world history, right now it's not just the technology itself that created a tremendous record. After the announcement from Dalian University of technology, the record for the world's largest 3D printer has been achieved by their humungous laser sintering 3D printer with a build volume of 1.8m3

Selective laser sintering or SLS, according to Wikipedia :
Is an additive manufacturing technique used for low volume production of prototype models and functional components.
This 3D printer that was developed in Dalian University of Technology, is not only impressive with its size, its mechanism can greatly reduce the regular three-dimensional printing process by 35% less time compared to typical laser sintering printers. Their secret behind this breakthrough lies in the machine's print processing, and that is by making only an outline of each layer rather than building out an entire solid surface. Printing the outline first is a potential key to reduce cost and time as well, after the outline is done it will then be treated inside a 180C furnace. Once it's out of the furnace, the output is solid and sturdy enough as it should be.

Furthermore, Dalian University's 3D printer uses industrial grade sand as a filament or rather print material, unlike with some of those early versions of such machines that require plastic filaments for printing. It's actually one of the latest 3D printers that requires cheaper print material to run.

Finally more people are saying that 3D printing is not a myth anymore, it's existing and serving us with hot and amazing surprises. Actually, it's been real and extant for such a long time, however, only large manufacturing companies and businesses are taking advantage of such technology and equipments. Last year, around the mid-week of October, the first ever 3D printing consumer trade show was held in London. A lot of consumers and curious crowd were able to see a real and fully functioning 3D printers.

The print industry has certainly a lot of great development up its sleeves to bewilder us and hit new records. Take note that 3D printers are not the only machines that could possibly amuse us, in digital-printing there were innovations and advancements that everyone's not so familiar. Manufacturers are continuously revealing new products particularly laserjet and inkjet printers that are very much commendable and worth taking a loot. Besides, on our today's economy, not everyone can afford to have their own 3D printer, hence for now let's settle on dreaming that one day we'll have our own.
