How To Use Your Printer’s Supplies Status Page

Do you want to know the current status of the cartridges installed in your printer? Let’s say you’re just curious to see the remaining supplies, or probably, you need to learn how to since there’s a problem that you need to fix which involves the cartridges. Whatever your reason may be, here’s a quick guide for you guys who own an HP Color LaserJet 2600 and 2605 printer.

This guide is a helpful one especially for those who would like to check the approximate amount of toners remaining in each color HP LaserJet 2600 toner cartridges, as well as the printer's other replaceable supplies. Just follow the easy steps provided below.

1. Turn the printer ON. Using the unit’s control panel locate and press the Setup button.
2. With the next page, use the arrow/directional keys to select Reports, choose it by pressing the OK button.
3. Proceeding will lead you to a list where you can find Supplies Status Page, use the arrow/directional keys to select it then press OK button.
4. By now your printer should start doing its job and in a minute you’ll have a printed page that provides the data status of each toner cartridges that are currently installed in the machine.

The image above is an example of how the printed page should look like. You should see information for each color cartridges mainly black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Included data are as follows:

• Cartridge Color
• Order/Part Number
• Percent of remaining toners
• Approximate number of pages that each can still print
• Serial Number
• Number of printouts produced by each cartridge

Through this information, you can possibly anticipate when to prepare and get some replacements ready. At least you won’t get surprised by the time any of the cartridges run out of supplies. Plus it’s really helpful to give you enough time to buy new stocks in case you don’t keep spares.

Remember that the Supply status page can be used as a reference on monitoring your printer’s replaceable supplies status. You don’t need to replace a cartridge with very low toner level, unless the unit gives you a warning message that is similar to Toner Empty error.
