Purchasing Cartridges: Know Their Differences

Printers are of different kinds and we all know that. Some businesses have more than two or three printers in their offices, and even some professionals and individuals owns not just one type of printer. Nowadays, the price range of printers are very affordable that a lot of buyers can now avail to use more than one printer and they'll only have to think about the cost of maintaining each.

It's necessary to purchase replacement laser toner cartridges or inkjet cartridges and have some spare in your storage rooms, assuming that you can't point out when will your cartridges run out of ink or toner. If you bought your printer for such a low price, you can't expect the same when buying cartridges. Printer cartridges are commonly expensive and this is the main reason why consumers are looking for alternatives from where they can save much, to think that its a recurring expense.

You should at least be familiar with the basic information about printer cartridges. The first thing that you should know is the difference of these two cartridges : ink cartridges and toner cartridges. Though ink and toner cartridges perform the same function, these two are distinctly different in many ways. Ink cartridges as its name implies contains ink inside the container, while toner cartridges are filled with powdered mixture of polymer and carbon. In the printing process they are still different, since ink type cartridges are in liquid form, inks are sprayed into the paper to create images, text and so on, whereas toners in powdered form are heated to fuse the mixture into the paper.

From the time that printers where introduced to the market, black inks and toners are the only ones available for printing. Eventually after some time, color types of inks and toners are developed and introduced to the market that are now known with a standard name of CMYK. Each letter corresponds to a certain color, C stands for Cyan, M for magenta, Y for Yellow and K for Black, for some reason I have no idea why K stands for a black color whereas they can use the letter B instead. Printer nowadays, comes with a single cartridge that contains 3 types of color and black is in a separate cartridge.

With the price difference, toners are more costly compared to ink cartridges though you can get large discounts through a lot of ways. You just have to be wise when choosing and purchasing products. Be resourceful to find ways, alternatives and much cost-effective like using remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges, cause there a more than just one option for you in the market that could give you much savings.
