Day by day technology evolves, from the biggest equipments down to the most portable gadgets. Portability is really a great factor that most of us consider, especially if we're about to purchase some high end gadgets to give some incentives to ourselves. When it comes to equipments, portability is also an issue, some consumers are opting for equipments that are mostly portable to save spaces and for mobility purposes.
The MIT ( Massachusetts Institute of Technology ) CADLab and MIT Center for Bits and Atoms have found two genius students to built a 3D printer that can actually fit into a briefcase. Ilan Moyer and Nadya Peek were the two genius students behind this great idea. The 3D printer was named PopFab, and was claimed to travel from different places around the world, like Saudi Arabia, Germany, and also within USA, specifically to Aspen in Colorado. As the two students introduced their 3D printer using a video, here's what it says, "At
its heart is a computer-controlled motion platform and a means of
attaching various toolheads. These enable PopFab to make objects from a
digital plan in a variety of ways: current capabilities include 3D
printing (as you are about to see), milling, vinyl cutting, and drawing
-- with more on the way."
From the video that describes the printer, the two students also demonstrated from the video how to set up that 3D Printer PopFab, through every step. The detachable components of the printer is the key secret of its portability. Once set-up, the 3D printer needs to be connected to the laptop which gives the design instructions. There are also a few tool-heads attached to the head of the printer to perform distinct functions such as milling and vinyl cutting, a very necessary function when it comes to creating 3D objects.
Indeed, technology is rapidly evolving, and getting more enormous and advance, especially the growth of 3D printing technology. Now how would the other printer manufacturing companies react to this, could the 3D printing technology pace-out the old style laser printer and inkjet printers, how about the use of laser toner cartridges and all other printer supplies. There were news before that stated some printer manufacturing companies to halt the production of their printers or supplies. While others are still standing with a better profit through the sales of their products, like brother toner cartridges and all other companies that are not greatly affected.
