HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw Color Laser Printer

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw Color Laser Printer

Hewlett-Packard included a new laser printer on its wide range of product equipments, the HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw which leans towards high-quality text and graphics, boasted with noticeable print speed, wireless connectivity and Ethernet support. It can serve as a personal printer or a shared printer, either way it delivers a decent performance and works effectively in both situation. Although one might notice that it's a bit large to share a space on your desk, and comes with a minimum paper handling capacity which may or may not possibly cope up as a shared printer in the office.

The HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw color laser printer offers a boosted print speed and a highly noted printout quality which makes this printer a good choice. Featuring an intuitive touch screen LCD control panel which also allows previewing of files and images. Aside from the printer's Wi-Fi and Ethernet support, it also offers a USB port as additional connectivity with the ability to print directly from a USB key. Through HP's wireless printing application, HP Wi-Fi Direct, users can be able to print directly from their smartphones, tablets and laptops, while for iOS devices, the M251nw supports Apple AirPrint app and some sort of cloud printing applications.

When it comes to paper handling capacity, the HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw is somehow incompetent, offering a 150-sheet input tray, with no Duplex (double sided) printing feature which count as another constraint. As a shared printer, it might work sufficiently for light duty printing, while as a personal printer, its paper handling capacity can be well enough. Considering the printer's dimension, (H W D) 10.4x15.9x17.8 inches, again it might take much space when placed on a desk.

The M251nw comes with a rated print speed of up to 14 ppm (pages per minute) for both mono and color standard printing. Printout quality, particularly the text output is highly excellent, suitable for printing both business and common types of files and documents. In terms of graphic printouts, the quality shoots a match for most latest color printers.

It has a duty cycle about 30,000 pages per month, large enough probably for an office printer. Also, it has a quoted cost-per-page of 3.5 cents (mono) and 17.5 cents (color), making it a reasonable printer to try, considering the price range of HP's laser toner cartridges and other printer consumable products. Regardless of the printer's lack of minimal features, it still offers a lot which makes it more convenient particularly for light business printing needs.

Canon ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges price ranged from $20.99 up to more than $200. The printer is also equipped with LED indicators that signals the user whenever a cartridge is either improperly installed or empty and needs to be replaced.

Polaroid Cacher Wireless Photo Printer by Adria Navarro and DI Shin

polaroid cacher by adria navarro and DI shin
Polaroid Cacher by Adria Navarro and DI Shin
The collaboration of  AdriĆ  Navarro and DI Shin produces an amusing and fascinating innovation that takes your typical photography experience into a whole new interesting level. It's more likely suitable for those people who often take pictures of just anything, anytime, and anywhere, from morning till midnight.

If you're one of the geeks who's fond of photography, here's the Polaroid Cacher wireless printer that's just perfect for you. This wireless printer is housed inside a Polaroid Land Camera case, and serves its sole purpose well enough, to take pictures of anyone's daily picture cravings.

The Polaroid Cacher, aside that it's a wireless printer, it also comes with a built in browser plugin that lets the user frame all those precious screenshots and get them printed in just a snap. This concept comes from the creator's idea that most of us nowadays are spending so much time on facing PC, laptops, and tablets, browsing online for so many reasons, when in fact we can even capture those moments and preserved it as a photo.

One of the creator, AdriĆ  Navarro explained :
We believe that our daily online activity—conversations, discoveries, games—is as meaningful as our activity in the physical world and, as such, should be preserved the same way we try to capture every important moment in our life. Especially because most of these experiences will be soon forgotten, lost under layers of information, databases and outdated services.
The primary concept is to photograph anyone's online digital experiences and turn it into instant pictures, and that seems to be profound. Considering that even a kid can now access the web through internet-capable devices, there are such times from which we wanted to capture and print a scene or a part of the screen that means a lot to us. Conversation, gaming, discoveries can sometimes become meaningful for someone, and through this device it will be easy for them to get it printed in a 3 x 4 inch size photo using ZINK (zero ink) technology which is largely different to conventional printers that use either laser toner cartridges or ink cartridges to be able to create a printout.

Online escapades can also be considered as a memorable moment that also deserve to be printed. If you're using an iPhone you can also do the same thing by taking a snapshot of your online activities, although you'll be needing a wireless photo printer capable of AirPrint to send those images onto the printer and have it printed.

The Rolling Printer Takes All Your Printing Task On The Wall

Rolling Printer by Kim Tae-Jin
Rolling Printer Designed by: Kim Tae-Jin
Have you been occasionally experiencing the troublesome of finding a space from which you can place your printer for good. Some spare desk spaces will do, but that's only for compact and personal printers in diminutive sizes, while an office printer especially MFP types are typically of large dimensions that sharing a small space from your desk wouldn't be enough.

Another thing that can also be consider a problem  is the paper usage that adds up on the printer expense that accumulates every month. Wasting tons of paper materials from printing small documents, living a white blank space on the printout sheet. Well in fact, those blank spaces can still be use for printing another small size file of text or document.

These office or personal home printer woes can now be eliminated when the concept of the Rolling Printer becomes true to life. Designed by Kim Tae-Jin, this printer will definitely put an end to those aforementioned problems that most printer users are facing nowadays. First thing you should know about this device is that, the Rolling Printer is a machine that can be hang on the wall, getting rid of space problems. One more thing about this printer is that, it has a very impressive paper management. It uses A4 size paper roll that can be cut using the printer's built-in cutter, from the end of the file you printed, thus excess on white spaces is certainly eliminated.

rolling printer by kim tae-jin
Unlike conventional printers that feeds a single sheet of paper one at a time, the Rolling Printer requires a roll of paper (A4 size) that can be refilled inside the printer by removing the side cap located on the opposite end from where the cartridge is installed. It runs using ink technology which means ink cartridges are installed on the printer and not laser toner cartridges, although looking at it, you'll find it similar to a toner drum cartridge.

Through this printer, we can have an ample of extra space for more useful stuffs to place on our desk or table that was once occupied by our printer. Plus, we also get to practice saving paper materials through the printer's paper management system.

HP OfficeJet 150 AIO Portable Inkjet Printer

HP OfficeJet 150 AIO Portable Inkjet Printer
The Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) was the first to released the world's actual portable All-In-One (AIO) printer based on inkjet technology in New Zealand. It was named as the HP OfficeJet 150 AIO Inkjet printer, features scanning and copying functionality that works when the printer is connected to a PC either through wired or wireless connectivity.

Users can do scanning, copying and printing on virtually anywhere, even without getting the printer plugged from a power source. The OfficeJet 150 is very light and highly mobile, with a quite sturdy built that at first glance you'll probably mistaken it as a notebook computer. It is actually as long as a notebook computer, at 3.5 x 14 x 7 inches (HWD) and only weighs 6.8 pounds, it is considerably compact just like the latest laptops nowadays.

Despite the printer's diminutive size, HP still managed to install a 2.4 inch color LCD touchscreen that serves as the digital control panel. Using the touchscreen allows a user to configure the printer, copy and print directly from storage devices such as : SD Cards, USB drives and PictBridge-enabled devices. The printer's memory card slot reader is located on the left side, while the USB port can be found just at the back.

Flipping up the printer's lid will serve as a paper feeder, and also expose the touchscreen control panel. The OfficeJet 150 comes with a detachable battery that can be charge when connected to a power source. It requires HP inkjet cartridges 95 and 98 to let the printer create high-quality printouts. Though we can say that all printer consumables from Hewlett-Packard may it be laser toner cartridges or ink cartridges, both deliver superb quality printout. To scan or copy a file with the printer, you need to feed the document into a slot located on top of the printer.

The idea that the Office 150 AIO brings is, a mobile printer that you can use to print, copy and scan documents in one single compact device on which you can still use even without a support from an AC outlet, just with the power source that comes from its own battery. It is indeed one of the remarkable printing machine that comes out from the industry, and though nowadays we may have seen a lot of compact printer that leans toward mobility, it's still no doubt that this is the first portable AIO printer.

HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 AIO Printer

HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 AIO Printer
HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 AIO Printer
Before we get into much details about the latest printers for this year, let's have at least a recap of last year's best selling laser printers. Previously we featured HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401D, one of the best selling AIO laser printer last year, made by Hewlett-Packard the tech giant in the printing industry. Aside from the M401 series, a lot of laser printers from different manufacturers were out in the market last year, and only a few of these machines were chosen as the best laser printers by most printer reviewing sites.

One of which is the HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275, this printer has a highlighted features of 3D capabilities and more connectivity options ample enough for every user. With the term '3D', it doesn't exactly mean that this printer can produce three-dimensional objects. What it literally do is to create a 3D image of the object that a user will place on the white podium on top of the printer. How is this made possible? By inspecting the design of the printer you'll notice a frame like object onto the top which has a built-in camera that a user can adjust or manoeuvre. Once an object is place onto the white podium, the printer will take about 6 camera shots, thus creating a three-dimensional image of the object. From a height of 50mm below, the output tends is supposed to be perfect, while a height that exceeds 150mm causes a bit of a problem with the output.

Aside from its capability to produce 3D image, it can also serve as a conventional scanner and copier of 2D files. If you're done using the camera frame, you can fold it down and remove the podium turning the printer into a compact machine. The HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 supports a 150 sheet input tray and an output tray that can hold a maximum of 50 sheets of paper.

In terms of connectivity options the M275 is built with a 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2.0 connections, plus Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n that allows the user to directly access the web through the printer. It also comes with a graphical LCD touchscreen display from which the printer's features and apps like Apple AirPrint that lets you print wirelessly from your iOS devices. The LaserJet Pro M275 has a quoted print speed of 17 ppm (monochrome) and 4 ppm (colour), with a considerable monthly duty cycle of 20000 pages. It uses 4 laser toner cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) from HP's printer consumable products.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401DW
One of the best-selling laser printer from last year 2012 was the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401DW. A laser type printer that's specifically built for small businesses and offices for that fast yet affordable printer equipment. According to Hewlett-Packard, HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401DW was their best-selling laser printer from last year. Having said that, it wouldn't be surprising to see a few businesses as well as offices that owns a LaserJet Pro 400 from HP.

In the range of M401 series there are four models available which roughly cost about £341.00 for the most expensive model which features automatic duplexing for double-sided printing, GigaBit Ethernet and 802.11n WiFi for connectivity options, plus a 3.5'' intuitive touch-sensitive screen display. Plus it supports wireless printing through Apple AirPrint app for iOS devices. Well if the price is too much to consider and you don't even need all the highlighted features, then you can opt for the cheapest model that cost about £215. Less price means less features, duplex printing is deducted and provides a USB-only option.

Regardless of the features, all printer models in the M401 range have the same specifications as follows : 1200 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch) print resolution, print speed, and a 250-sheet paper tray that serves as the main tray. Whatever features or specs you need from a laser printer, the M401 series has the perfect laser printer for all your printing needs.

The HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401DW is a single-function printer, no scanning, copying and fax sending features. That would be the only constraint you'll find from this range, and if you're looking for a multifunction printer HP has a lot of MFP printers to offer as well. But if you prefer a really fast single-function printer, HP quoted the LaserJet Pro 400 M401DW with a print speed of about 33 ppm (pages per minute), that's even faster than most inkjet and laser printers that were available in the market last year.

Since it's built for small type businesses, a monthly duty cycle of up to 3000 pages might be decent enough for their printing requirement. As for the M401's printer consumables, it uses HP laser toner cartridges with a standard page-yield of 2700 pages, while you can get about 6800 pages for the high-yield replacement toner cartridges.

The Printer Industry Of 2013

Last year we had a lot of reviews about printers, may it be a single-function, a multifunction, laser type or inkjet type. There were also some topics on which certain factors about choosing the right printer were tackled or rather discuss, and it seems that there are more audience regarding those topics. Since it's new year, printer manufacturers might take advantage of the hype on introducing new models of printers this year.

The more compact the better, portability is something that most consumer nowadays definitely consider when choosing a printer. Multifunction printers as they were not so common before, now become a very conventional equipment in the printing industry. Having a single machine that can perform quite a few functions is something more ideal than having several machines to work on each specific task. Thus in a way, multifunction printers can be more outstanding and progressive in the future.

Printers became a vital equipment in every houses, offices and businesses. To think that all-in-one printers are now very much affordable in the market nowadays, that even a personal home user can afford to purchase a highly capable personal printer. The price range of printer equipments in the market from last year are quite considerable, maybe this year since the competition may become even tougher on the part of all printer manufacturers to prove which company will stand still producing high quality machines that all consumers would hardly do anything just to have one.

Duplexing feature is still a must, especially on most businesses and offices that requires dual-sided printing for their works and documents. Plus the growing number of pledges that encourages paperless printing, the duplex printing feature will surely be one of the "in" factors to consider for this year's line of consumers. Don't forget about connectivity, wireless data transfer and printing process, something that most consumers preferred and will still prefer more.

Separate ink cartridges for each color and separate drum unit from the printer's laser toner cartridges, these things are becoming more common especially on high capacity printers that were out in the market from last year. Talking about printer consumables, well hopefully all the printer manufacturing companies out there are trying to figure out a way on lowering the price of their printer consumable products, considering all the responses from the consumers regarding the market price of every printer consumables.

Let's just all wait on what this year might bring in the printer industry. Innovations and upgrades will surely be just like an exhibit on which all the latest printers are on the spotlight taking all the glimmer.
