Epson Expression Home XP-200 Color Inkjet Printer |
Compact as it is, the Epson Expression Home XP-200 has no touchscreen LCD to offer, instead its navigation interface supports six dedicated buttons situated at the printer's front panel. While most of the printer's features require Internet connection, wireless setup is just too easy as a push of a button. If you're using a WiFi router that supports WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) everything will run smoothly with your printer and router. If by any chance you don't want to connect it over a network, then you may use a USB cable to connect your printer to a PC.
For the print speed, Epson rated the XP-200 at 6.2 ppm (pages-per-minute) for standard black printing, and 3.1 ppm for color printing. It supports borderless printing for letter and A4 size paper media including plain paper, glossy photo paper, paper matte, brochures, flyers and the likes. Paper handling capacity includes an input tray that holds a maximum of 100 sheets, ample enough for a home office printer.
Well since it's not part of the L-series printers that use refillable ink tank system, but the good news is that the XP-200 supports four individual Epson ink cartridges for each color, hence you just have to replace only the tank that runs out of ink. It uses a special type of ink, Epson's DURABrite Ultra Pigment Ink that resists fading for longer lasting printouts. It seems that the company is focusing more on ink type printers, thus they're enhancing their ink technology while still keeping up the margin for laser toner cartridges and laser type printers.
The Epson Expression Home XP-200 is Google Cloud Print ready, additionally a pack of software and apps are readily available for the printer. These include Epson's Scan and Photo Print app, FineReader 9.0 Sprint excellent for scanning PDFs and other similar purposes.
