Remanufactured Printer Cartridges : Is It Ideal For Your Printing Needs?

Preventing your printer from running out of inks or toners is somehow a laughable idea, it's more likely that you intend to conserve and prevent the ink from getting wasted, but you can't keep it say halfway full as much as you want. The expense that comes along with maintaining a printer equipment is basically a recurring stress on part of the user. Most consumers totally give up on using branded print supplies, considering the exorbitant prices of such consumables, it's quite considerable why they opt for alternatives. In the market, the variety of printer cartridges may be divided into three types, the OEM or original equipment manufacturer, then there are also these remanufactured cartridges, and lastly the compatibles. The thing is, with all these three choices, how would you know which one is the ideal option for your needs.

Considering that you've been using branded cartridges for such a long time that you've been accustomed to it, then suddenly you realize the amount of money you're spending for these supplies. While you have the option to either continue using OEM, or switch to non-branded cartridges, the answer can be determined if you weigh the cost and benefit of both sides. If you continue using high-price supplies, then your expense will certainly reach a new hike, since yearly, brand manufacturers are putting up an increase to their products. Whereas on the other side, if by any chance you decided to start using remanufactured supplies, your printer's expense will generally drop, however some qualities you're expecting may be sacrificed.

Alternative printer cartridges such as remanufactured toner cartridges are made from used components, hence an empty original tank of ink, when reused is considered remanufactured. The process of producing remanufactured cartridges is partially different from manufacturing brand new cartridges. But, the benefits between these two process has a huge difference. A brand new cartridge requires natural resources, may it either renewable or non-renewable, that doesn't make any exception. While a re-manufactured cartridge only requires used or empty tanks, also called as post-consumer waste. With that being said, can you now determine which one is more efficient over the other?

If it's now clear to you, why you should at least consider using remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges with your printer, then it's a must to learn these things as well.

Remans, or re-manufactured print supplies are mostly produced by third party retailers and manufacturers. Brand manufacturers are also selling such products, but they never claimed. I mean, they're accepting return post-consumer waste right, hence they're using those components to produce new products, that's exactly what re-manufacturing is.

Not all retailers can be trusted, that's a fact in the marketing industry. Before settling to any retailer or seller, make a research, check out their credibility as well as their customers feedbacks. Also, see if they're offering money back guarantee and service warranty, these are very essential.

It's not actually a rule of thumb but there are certifications that a retailer must attained for consumers to consider their products are of such quality that meet the standards of OEM consumables. Thorough quality testing are implemented to be certified, hence a retailer that possesses any, means that their products will surely deliver quality prints.

In addition, don't get carried away by those negative remarks from other customers claiming that the used of remanufactured cartridges will only cause problems with your printer. A printer may be damaged even if you use an OEM, also, print failures may occur when using branded cartridges.

Make Your Epson Printers Work With Remanufactured Cartridges

It's quite typical for the consumers to opt for products from where they can get a lot of savings, perhaps money isn't really just a thing that you earn from nothing. Customers and shoppers chose to purchased items in pack, products on sale, and non-branded consumables, simply to save their hard earned money. However, some of these sub-standard products may not fully provide what you need or at least demand. There are instances from which these products could either be damaged from the day you bought them due to very low quality, or get easily damaged even for the first time you used it.

Still, we shouldn't imply this in general, despite the fact that there are sub-standard consumables out in the market, there are still a few or even more than half of these non-branded products are working up to par with the original ones. One good example to cite as a quality product are these re-manufactured or third-party printer cartridges. Considering that you have a trust worthy retailer these printer consumables are made from empty and used cartridges that were re-manufactured and installed with a new printer chip identical to OEM cartridges.

Again, in order to save people tend to purchase third-party printer cartridges since OEM's are somehow costly. However, since this cartridges are manufactured by third-party manufacturers, it's a common scenario from which the printer doesn't recognize these cartridges. Like for example, if you're using an Epson printer and installed it with a re-manufactured toner or ink cartridge you'll probably get a message indicating that your printer cannot recognize the cartridge. In that case, you might have thought of disposing it unless you know how to handle the said problem.

Well to help with your problem, here's the thing that you can do, simply disable your printer's monitor. How can you suppose to disable it? It's easily said that done, now here's the instructions :

  • First take note that this process will only take effect for Epson printers that uses ink cartridges, as I'm not sure if it would also work for Epson laser toner cartridges. Do this at your own risk.
  • After installing the re-manufactured cartridges on your printer, from your desktop click on "Startthen go to "Control Panel".
  • Double click on the "Printer" tab, then right click your printer's icon and choose "Printer Preferences" located at the bottom of the dialog box.
  • Click on "Speed and Progress" tab, then try to locate "Printer Monitor". Now to disable the ink monitor, remove the check mark on the "Disable Epson Status Monitor" box.
  • For the last step, click on "Save" then close the dialog box, and your printer should now be working.

Ensure Your Printers Good Working Performance

The inkjet type of printer, compared to laser type, has more components that tend to move during the printing process. Having said that, this type of printer is more sensitive, and can be more vulnerable to printer problems. Printer care is a good topic to talk about, and also to learn, but not every printer user has the eagerness to touch on this subject. Though some users practiced taking care of their own equipments, of course who else would be concern taking care of their own printer other than the one who uses it.

Our printer equipment surely do need extra care, or at least enough attention, to avoid any unnecessary printer problems. If suddenly you noticed, why is my printer not doing all the way it was used to do, then probably it calls for your attention. Maybe it just needs an overall maintenance check, it wouldn't be that much for you to inspect or check your printer once in a while. You can also try a few tips below, to ensure your printers good working performance, and fine condition.

Let's start with the first thing you need to accomplish, when you bought a printer. Installation, there's always certain issues that comes after installing the printer, now to minimize the possibility of encountering this circumstances, take note of this. Install the driver of your printer, either the driver from the cd provided with the printers packaging, or you can download the compatible driver for your printer from their products website. Why do we need to this thing? This method mostly applies to PC's with Windows OS, as you'll notice, when you plug in the printers USB cable onto your PC, it's often recognize as "Unknown USB Device". So to avoid having this issue, or any further problems, install the printer driver first and then you can now connect the printer to your PC, and everything will run smoothly, the driver will even help you with the installation.

After properly installing the printer, halt yourself from doing your very first printout, I know you're excited, but at least try running a quick and easy maintenance test with your printer. It'll help you detect if there's any problem with the hp inkjet cartridges or laser toner cartridges, if you're using laser printer. Instead of rushing things up, a few minutes of print head cleaning and maintenance test, wouldn't be a trouble. Besides, what do you want, a couple of days without printer, or just a few minutes of testing?

Alternative Cartridges : Price Over Performance Ratio

laser toner cartridges
As a consumer it's very common for us to always think of purchasing what could give us more savings. The problem is that, consumers always search for cheap products, and yet they still demand for the same, exactly the same performance and quality that they get from the original ones. Isn't it obvious that you're paying less, hence don't expect too much from what you purchased. Though this may not be applied to all products or consumables, cause believe or not, there are products that can greatly exceed the performance and quality of what the original ones can deliver. One example is the printer consumable, there are OEM's which are seriously expensive, but there are also alternative printer cartridges which are cost effective and performs almost of par with the original ones.

Since most of us owns a personal printer equipment, the need for purchasing replacement laser toner cartridges or ink cartridges becomes very common. The thing that commonly matter to a budget wise consumer is the difference in market price between OEM cartridges and alternative cartridges. Alternative cartridges can be branch into several forms, remanufactured, compatible, and refilled. But one thing they have in common is that, they're all less expensive, cost-effective, cheaper and can give bigger savings.

What's their difference, a question that's really undying. Are they as good as the original, another question yet unresolved. This issues can only be resolved and finally be ended, once a consumer tries the alternative and attested to it's quality and performance. Those questions are undying simply because there's always a new consumer that would like to try the product and yet doubtful, period. For example, a pack of Brother TN210 toners, can cost you as much as $300 for OEM cartridges, whereas a remanufactured set of the same product can only cost about $100, see the large difference. The performance of a product that  consumers experienced from any OEM cartridges can be overwhelming, i know, but with it's price and cost of printing, one word can describe it, breathtaking.

If you're wealthy enough, or fine let's say you can afford, to constantly purchase OEM cartridges for your printer, then stick to where you are used to. But for an average printer user, those alternative cartridges are good enough for you. Just always bear in mind that alternatives still are alternatives, they may not be as good as the original, but think of the quality over the price ratio, and you'll be more than satisfied.

Opt For Printer Consumables That Help You Save

laser toner cartridges
Alternative printer cartridges in the past years have made an awesome breakthrough, these products was able to establish a name in the printer market. In the recent years, alternative printer supplies like laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges had been commonly available for the consumers. Thus it makes sense why most printer users became aware and had been purchasing alternative consumables for their equipment. Simply for the reason to save money without compromising the quality they demand.

The arising retail price of original printer supplies and consumables like for example HP inkjet cartridges, Canon print cartridges and so on, had caused the market of alternative products to be steady. These alternative printer consumables are now considered as the most suitable replacement for printer needs, to most printer users.

When compared to original printer supplies, these alternative consumables are of par in terms of quality and performance, some are even outstanding and beating what the original ones can deliver. At the time of market recession, these alternative products provide a significant role in the printer industry, by remanufacturing printer consumables like laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges to support the sustainability of printer consumables. Also during that time, it takes a spot momentarily in the printer market, considering its very cost effective price, consumers save a lot from purchasing remanufactured printer consumables.

It's not surprising why most printer users opt to purchase alternative products nowadays, given that these consumers have proven and tested that quality and performance of these consumables. A lot of eco friendly minded consumers also tend to purchase alternatives since they're made from recycled printer components which are more environment friendly. Saving you a lot of bucks by cutting the expenses of your printer supplies, and helping the environment as well by purchasing eco friendly printer consumables, what more could greater than this.

The fact the we are now facing a global economic issue, plus the arising global warming concerns, it would be more beneficial for both the environment and everyone of us to purchase alternative printer consumables, helping save the world from global warming and our wallet from saving nothing.

Refining Your Laser Printers Corona Wire

For Brother printer users are you familiar with the components of your equipment? Let's say the Corona Wire which can be found from a laser printer, have you heard of it, or do you have any idea about this component.  The Corona Wire is a charged wire in a laser printer that draws the toner off the drum onto the paper. It must be cleaned when the toner cartridge is replaced. It's a component of your laser printer that performs a vital role in the process of printing.

To make it more broad, the main role of the corona wire is to transfer the toner onto the paper from the laser printer's imaging drum. To be able to do this,  the wire is releases charge onto the paper that causes to attract the toner into the printed material. If the corona wire of your Brother laser printer is not working properly, then it may be damaged that will cause your printer to stop from working.

Whenever you noticed some signs which indicates that the corona wire is damaged or may not be clean, you should know how to handle and clean this component. First what are the signs that may indicate a dirty corona wire, it could be spots on printouts, unreadable prints, and opaque or light prints. To help extend the life of your Brother printer it's a good thing you know how to clean each and every component of your equipment.

If you're about to replace your empty laser toner cartridges, then make sure you won't forget to clean the corona wire at the same time. To clean this component, you need to push the front release button of your Brother printer then pull the printer cover towards you. Now it would be easy for you to remove the Brother toner cartridges and the imaging drum of your printer. This first step is actually the same as when you're replacing your printers toner cartridges.

Next step would be sliding the blue tab element to the left most side of the printer and then back to the right most side, repeat this process for more than 3-4 times. Some model of Brother printers have  a green color tab and others are blue, so it depends on the model of your printer whatever the color of the tab may be. You can also a small brush appropriate for this type of cleaning to dust off the toner build up inside the printer.

After all the necessary cleaning process, you may now reinstall the imaging drum of your printer, by aligning the tab lines and the arrow of the imaging drum. Improper aligning may result to printing problems that you don't want to experience. Reverse the first three steps to reassemble your laser printer back to normal, and this will ensure your printer and its corona wire to work as good as new.

Stretch The Limits of Your Cartridges

Stretch The Limits of Your Cartridges
Saving yourself from the recurring expense of purchasing print cartridges can't be solve unless you stop using your equipment, you can't just put a pause on the expenses that comes from maintaining a printer. Although you can at least diminish the cost but not totally wipe it off, there are such ways on which you can often do with your printer and laser toner cartridges or ink cartridges to stretch their limits. By using these approach you'll notice a significant decrease from your printers recurring expenses.

Learn your printer, the settings, modes, features, and ways from which you can lessen the amount of toner or ink it consumes whenever you're printing. A lot of printer model nowadays has this mode called economical printing, saving you're ink/toner from too much consumption. Explore the settings, you can set your printers ink intensity to low, especially if you're just doing personal printouts and not that too important documents.

Printers sensors are often accurate, but it sure stop your printer from working once it detected a low level of ink/toner. It's actually a great feature that notifies the user to replace the cartridges, but somehow you're wasting about 20% of ink/toner if you do that. How can i say so? Printer cartridges had as much as 20% remaining ink/toner inside the cartridge and users are not totally aware of this. Thus tech wise geek came up with a solution to hack or rather bypass the sensors, but let me remind you that you can only do this at your own risk.

Clogging, is a very common issue that users can easily handle. Clogged print cartridges results your printer to stop from working, which brings the thought of low level ink and users tend to replace the cartridges without even checking if it's really empty. This problem occurs whenever the printer wasn't used regularly or for a very long time. If you encounter this problem, cleaning your cartridges is so easy, just use put some alcohol in a damp cloth and draw it across the printhead, be careful with this as you may transfer ink from one another.

Sometimes, a simple trick will do, just shake your printer cartridge and let the ink/toner settle in place, but this wouldn't work all the time. You should also know that shaking it doesn't mean you'll get another full cartridge, you're just extending its life, so you still need to purchase a replacement.

Printer Cartridges Cost More Than The Printer Itself

laser toner cartridges
We commonly look at the retail price of the equipment or printer specifically, whenever we decide to purchase these machines. But what we should rather look at before looking at the price is the cost per page of the printer, which we often neglect. So most probably, customers won't be buying those equipments. The capacity of the printer mostly relies on the cartridges installed inside the printer. And the actual cost per page could also depend on the printers cartridge. Thus, it's not surprising to know that cartridges cost more than the printer equipment.

There is a relationship between the price of the cartridge and its capacity. Newly bought printer equipment always come with a starter set of ink or toner cartridges which customers often claim that this starter cartridges are half full. But when you purchase new laser toner cartridges or ink cartridges for your printer, definitely you can't check if the cartridges are full even if you shake it. The packaging only indicates the page yield capacity of the cartridge when producing standard prints.

What if this happens, your printer runs out of ink or toner and you need to rush into town and see if there's a retail shop that sells printer cartridges exactly for the printer model you need. While you where looking for the printer supply shop, you past by a printer sale that only sells a model of printer for about $50, then you also saw the model of the cartridge for your printer, and when you check the price, the black cartridge sells for about $30 and the color cartridge sells for about $39, that's more than the price of the printer on sale. You would definitely think that it's more ideal to buy a new printer instead of purchasing the two cartridges you need for your old equipment.

Purchasing branded printer cartridges can be costly, and once their empty you'll just throw them off. Though we've been used to disposable materials and throw away things, there are still situations and exceptions that should be considered. Do you think that simply throwing away and disposing these small plastic containers would be good enough for the society. You may afford to always buy original cartridge replacement for you printer, but summing up all the expense will show you the real figure. This drives some printer cartridge consumers to purchase alternative products like remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges, which can be risky only and if you buy from non reputable retailers. There are even consumers who tried using non-approved refill kits, which for them is a rational thing to do.

Recycled Laser Toner Cartridges And Ink Cartridges

The instance of having a low level printer cartridge can't be avoided, especially for some printer users who heavily rely on printing and does a lot of workload with their printer. You wouldn't get any problem unless you have some spare from your storage rooms or extra printer cartridges for unexpected situation like this. But what could be more disappointing than having a laser toner cartridge with low level of ink, and worse you don't have any spare at all to replace it.

It may not be an expense that you experience on a daily basis, but having this recurring expense of purchasing replacement printer cartridges for your equipment can be a distress. It's not surprising that most of the market consumers of printer supplies like toner and ink cartridges, opt to purchase original brands of supplies, as they thought that using original printer cartridges can be more convenient for their equipment. Though there would no argumentation needed to prove the performance and quality of original equipment manufacturer, the thing is that their market value or market price are commonly expensive. Thus, some printer cartridges consumers seek to find something more cheaper, or at least cost effective that they can afford to purchase frequently.

Since the only bad thing from using branded ink and laser toner cartridges is actually their price, this reason has been used by some third party manufacturers to developed a more cost effective printer consumable for the market consumers who prefer less expensive printer cartridges. Being less expensive or cheaper doesn't always mean substandard, it actually depends on the manufacturer itself. HP has a plant on several countries accepting returned empty ink and toner printer cartridges to undergo remanufacturing, but actually it's more appropriate to call it recycling.

Recycling used and empty laser and ink printer cartridges is a great idea to aid for the conservation of our environment and sustainability of our natural resources. Remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges are considered as an excellent alternative, not only for their very low prices but also with their efficiency and performance that are of par with the original printer supplies that are available in the market.

Let's start by knowing the type of laser printers that Brother has to offer. There are mainly four types of laser printers from Brother, the common B&W or Black and White, Colored laser/LED, Monochrome MFP's, and Colored MFP centers.

Let's start with the B&W or the Black and White laser printer. Design purely of speed, it can create printouts of about 35 pages per minute using Brother toner cartridges. More Functionality Means Higher Value

At present, we have different models of printers in the market that suits all the styles and needs of every consumer. Before, there were private and personal printers that functions for a small specific task. But nowadays, printers in the market are added with multifunctioning features and capabilities, that functions as a printer, copier, scanner and fax all in one. Functionality wise, businesses and companies would definitely prefer to use multifunction printers for better productions.

Along with the advancement comes the increase in price value. A lot of you may have notice the increase in the price range of printers, of course if there's advancements, there's also a charged. You can't just have some improvement to your equipment without paying the price, right. But as you have notice, even before, printers were not that affordable when it was first introduced to the market, as well as the cartridges that are needed for you printer to create printouts. Now that there are hundreds of available printer models and features, the competition among the other brands created a decrease in market value of printers. However the price range of original laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges seems to be steady.

They're quite expensive for some consumers, that they tend to purchase alternatives like those remanufactured HP305A toner cartridges and ink cartridges. There might be no problem from using refurbished cartridges, so long as you bought them from trusted retailers. These are actually made from original cartridges that are refurbished and remanufactured to create recycled printer cartridges that are way cheaper compared to original brand printer cartridges.

The price difference between the original brand cartridges and the remanufactured cartridges is roughly about 50%. This is a highly significant savings, considering that we all want to cut down the cost on our printing expenses. Toners and ink inside the printer cartridges containers if not properly disposed of, can definitely pollute the environment, causing much trouble than what we can expect. Since these cartridges are non degradable, and will took years before it decompose, having this reason think that if you can't be the solution then at least be a part of it.

When Printer Says,Inks And Toners Are Getting Low

Are you familiar with the signs that your printers ink or toner cartridge needs to replaced? Those noticeable blank spots and lines, fading images, light and pale areas of printout, it could be an alarming signal that your printers toner or ink cartridges are about to be empty, and definitely you need a replacement.

For someone who has been using printers for quite a long time, these indications are merely very common to them and knows the right thing to do. While others, get easily annoyed and worried that their printer might be damaged and immediately they call the retailer and asked for a tech person to check their equipment. Not knowing that the only simple solution to their problem is by changing the empty cartridges of their printer. It may sound a bit funny, but honestly there are instances that it really happen.

Now to avoid getting caught up under these circumstances, it's better for you to know what are these familiar signs that a printer user should get used to in order to avoid getting clueless of whats happening to their equipment. This will help you stop from wasting unnecessary papers from faded and blank printouts, as well as buy you some time to get ready from purchasing replacement cartridges before it really gets empty.

Here's how, you may notice that your printer isn't producing evenly printouts and some of the areas from the printed material are faded, blank or has white streaks. Definitely it's a sign that the level of your printers ink or toner cartridges are getting low, or there's a chance that the cartridge is near empty. A simple solution, is to have some spare of laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges, so whenever you needed replacements, you're always ready.
The printer will also provides warning and signals to your desktop or mainly from your printer. There are LED indicators that flashes or blink with red lights, which indicates that either you get a low level of ink or it's already empty and you get to print even a single page. Though there are some model of printers that can still allow the user to print even with one single cartridge left that has enough ink or toner.
Another simple way of determining the amount of ink or toner inside your cartridges, is simply by getting it out of the cartridge tray and shake it, to determine if it still has enough of ink to sustain printing. It also helps to loosen some toner particles that build up inside the cartridge, allowing you to use the toner cartridge to its fullest extent. But still, it won't save you from purchasing replacement cartridges. If it's too costly for your wallet to regularly purchase original brand cartridges, you may opt to try remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges which are way cheaper.

To make your laser toners last much longer, you can practice printing only what you need or if you can't restrict yourself from printing unnecessary files, then better switch to black and white. Avoid printing colored documents, as much as you can print it in plain color then do it. Colored printing can be costly, so if will just print drafts, text, or files of the same type which are not that important, use black toners and reserve your color toners for more important files.

You can also set the printers setting to economical mode, this feature is made available mostly to recent models of printer. Printer users are getting conscious about their printing, and manufacturers are aware of this, and so they developed a feature that can help their consumers to easily set their printers to economical mode of printing, where the printer sets the quality of prints to low color quality. This feature is quite similar to grayscale printing, and can be helpful if you only print text and word documents.

Keep this in mind, files that require higher quality of printing consumes a lot of ink or toners, hence you can print this type of files only and if necessary. Use low ink or toner quality when printing word documents for personal purposes, unless it's part of your report. You may also opt to try remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges which are cost-effective and budget friendly.

The Toner Expert
Printing expense and all the recurring expenses that you have to deal with when using a printer equipment, can somehow push you to find for alternatives on which you can save money and can drastically cut down your mounting printing expense. Small to medium sized offices and businesses though may have all the money to afford purchasing original brand printer cartridges, still they find for solution to lessen their invested money from these supplies.

Considering that you often use original printer cartridges, then it could be assume that you're one of those who dumped and throw away their empty laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges into the bin, once used or emptied. Though the term recycled or remanufactured products are still assumed as substandard or with low quality, it's not always the case. The fact is that, these recycled printer cartridges are made from original brand cartridges, returned and refurbished in order to produce remanufactured cartridges. This method of recycling doesn't only provide cost efficient printer supplies for wise consumers, but also it helps save the environment by conserving the use of natural resources that are needed for the production of new printer cartridges.

It may still be unfamiliar to some consumers about these remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges, however if we're talking about money wise, there should be no reason for you to explore things especially if it might be the solution to your mounting printing expense. These printer cartridges cost about half the price of the original supplies, so imagine if you're purchasing bulks of costly toner cartridges, how much can you save if you would opt to purchase recycled products.

If you can get the same quality, performance and yield for half the price, would you still not prefer using these cartridges? There are numerous retailers and third party manufacturers that are abusing the term recycled, though there are still few reputable retailers who guarantee customer service and provides warranty for their products if and when their products failed to perform and achieve the customers satisfaction.

Save money by cutting down your printing expenses and helping to save the environment at the same time, it's like hitting two birds with one stone.

What to Buy : Laser Printer or Inkjet Printer?

Laser Toner Cartridges
The Toner Expert
Printers as we all know it come in two distinct types and features, one is the so called inkjet printer, and the other one is called laser printer. Both produces quality printouts and you can't just compare and contrast them easily as there are such factors to consider if you want to identify which one can be really capable of producing the best quality of prints.

If you will try to compare their printouts, one can say that inkjet printers are the best from producing vivid images and files of the same type, while in terms of speed, accuracy and proficiency, the laser type of printers wins the poll. You see, there are a lot of factors that needs to be consider before judging which among these two types of printers win to be the best.

When the inkjet type outstands from creating images of such vivid quality, the other type would be greatly appreciated from printing clear text as well as handling loads and loads of prints in just a matter of time. What I'm trying to imply here is that, if the inkjet excels in a specific feature that the other one doesn't have, the same thing goes with the laser type, it has features that inkjet can't possibly have. It all depends on the needs of the customer or rather the consumer who would purchase a printer.

It may also depend on the purpose for what it'll be use. For offices and businesses, they would rather choose to purchase laser printers that is more suitable and useful for their workload, and the price of laser toner cartridges are not that expensive nowadays. Since they need high printing requirements the laser type of printer is best suited for these environment. Whereas the inkjet type of printer is best suited for personal and home use, since they often want to print images and files of the same type, inkjet printers are more capable of doing this task and more appropriate for limited printing needs.

There are more factors and differences between these two types of printers that can be discuss into more broader aspects, such as the cost per print, printer cartridges expense, maintenance, the number of prints over time, and so on. Printer cartridges are mostly to be consider since this could be counted to your printers recurring expense. As long as you can keep up purchasing original brand cartridges just stick with it, but you opt to look for alternatives such as remanufactured toner cartridges and ink cartridges, better find a trust worthy retailer so wouldn't end up wasting you hard earned money.

The top selling brand manufacturers of printers are the Hewlett Packard and Brother International. A lot of consumers claimed that the benefit from using original cartridges like Brother toner cartridges,is that it can deliver higher page yield compared to non original printer cartridges. But who knows what the truth is? Some other customers from different forums are complaining that the printer cartridge they had bought wasn't able to reach the page yield indicated from the packaging. What Exactly Is A Laser Toner?

Laser Toner Cartridges
The Toner Expert
The term Laser Toner is in fact a combination of terms. Toner is the powder form of carbon or polymer used in most laser printers and photocopiers, toner particles are melted by the printers fuser to bind into the paper material that forms the printed images, documents, text and other types of files that you print onto the paper. Earlier when it was developed, it was in a form of carbon powder, then through research and advancement they improve its previous form into a melted carbon and mixed with polymer. This improvement aims to achieve a better quality of printouts.

The type of polymer may vary depending on the manufacturer, but these carbon or polymers may either be, styrene acrylate copolymer, styrene butadiene polymer, or polyester resin.  Each manufacturer have their own specific formulation of laser toners, the structure and composition of their formulas may be different from the size of each particle and the melting point of the toner powder.

The size of a single toner particle may have the averaged of 14-16 micrometers. Since they wanted to improve the image or the print quality, the earlier size of toner particles were reduce to about 8-10 micrometers thus creating a 600 DPI (dots per inch) resolution which is way better. The smaller the toner particles size the more accurate and crisp images can be produce.

In earlier times, laser printer denotes the use of laser, when actually not all laser printer uses laser and instead some uses LED to transfer the toner into the page. Before, toner powder comes from a bottle that printer users need to pour the toners into a reservoir in the machine. Nowadays, modern laser printers feed directly from a sealed toner cartridge. And also, these modern equipments now uses the standard Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black (CMYK) colored toners, unlike before that only black color of toners were available.

Generally,  laser toners are manufactured inside a container called laser toner cartridges, but at present most laser printer models have included a drum unit aside from having a toner cartridge. In short, every time the printer user needs to replace empty cartridges, the user should also need to replace the drum unit. Though the drum unit may be replace at some point having the reason that it's already worn out, replacing it along with the cartridges may seem to be costly. If you want to have some alternatives or cost-effective solution to cut down your printer expense you may choose to purchase remanufactured toner cartridges, less expensive printer cartridges that won't compromise your printing quality.

To prevent having such problems, regularly cleaning your laser toner cartridges may help you extend the life of your toner cartridges and boost the performance of your laser printer.

Brother cartridges may be too expensive to regularly purchase especially when you always buy new cartridges just because you damaged the previous one, isn't that a pain. Now to avoid encountering this problems you should regularly check your toner cartridges for any defects, deformities, or any small breakage that may cause bigger problems, and of course schedule a routine for maintenance to ensure that your printers cartridges will perform to its fullest capacity.

To give you the basics of cleaning your Brother toner cartridges, here are the steps and proper procedures to avoid unwanted leaks inside your printer, toner build ups that may cause blockage and so on. Follow the procedures listed below to perfectly refine your toner cartridges.

  • Turn off your Brother laser printers and make sure to unplug its power cord from the power strip. Let it still for an hour or two before proceeding with the task to make sure its heat rollers or photo-receptor drums have cooled down to avoid unwanted burns.
  • Before starting, make sure to put on a face mask and latex gloves on your hands knowing that toner particles might cause some health risks especially to those who have asthma and bronchitis.  Open the toner compartment then and carefully pull out the Brother toner cartridges from the printer.
  • Place the toner cartridge aside on a safe place and wipe its outer shell with a dry rag or paper towel. Keep in mind to do this carefully.
  • Next, using a compact or portable vacuum cleaner, insert its nozzle into the cartridge compartment and vacuum any spilled toner or paper dust inside your Brother unit. Be careful not to disconnect any of the machine’s internal component with the vacuum nozzle.
  • Using a small brush gently dislodge any remaining toner powder from the corners and edges of the toner compartment then vacuum the area for the second time.
  • Place the Brother toner cartridges back to the toner compartment then close and latch the cover before plugging it and switching it on.
  • Wipe any toner residue from your work area with a rag. If the toner had stained, make sure to wash it with cold water or moisten a paper towel with acetone or alcohol then rub it in the area. Never wash it with hot water because this heat sets in the toner.
