Recently we've got a post about the launching of two new inkjet printers from HP which include Officejet Pro Black&White 3610 and 3620, which are both an all-in-one machine. Although it's an inkjet type, there are certain features from which they can matched up with a laser type printer. Now for our featured printer today, here's another addition to Pro series, the Officejet Pro 251DW printer.
It has an essentially inferior fast print speed, and is also compatible to work with most apps that supports printing through the cloud. Suitable for micro offices, the Pro 251DW can serve as workgroup printer for mid-heavy level of printing needs. The size of it makes the machine a bit off to share a space in your office desk, guess it'll be perfect to let it have it's own space.
Paper handling capacity includes a 250-sheet input tray, a 150-sheet output tray, plus a standard duplexer for double-sided printing which can be useful for any office environments. If you want to max out the paper capacity, there's an available 250-sheet tray which is optional to maximize the machine's capacity by 500 sheets. For connectivity interfaces, the 251DW features a high-speed USB host, built-in Ethernet for wired connection and WiFi support for wireless connection.
The printer's required consumables are claimed to yield up to 2300 pages in plain black text printing, given that you use original HP inkjet cartridges. HP rated the printer with a print speed at up to 20 ppm (pages-per-minute) in mono printing, while 14 ppm in coloured. Set up can be quite easy even for a new printer user, to some who are used to installing such devices it's actually common.
Since it supports printing through the cloud, aside from HP's well-known app called HP ePrint, you can also make use of Apple AirPrint for printing from tablets, smartphone and iOS devices. In addition, to those who don't have access to a wireless point, HP created a workaround by including WiFi Direct to the printer's supported app/softtware. Through Wireless Direct, users are still allowed to print from mobile devices even without a router.
For medium sized offices, the HP Officejet Pro 251DW makes a good choice considering its essential features, and add-on which makes the printer a bit costly compare to other models from its range. When it comes to print speed and paper capacity, this model can give you both plus a bonus of average output quality.
