Samsung Xpress Series and Brother MFC-J870DW : Printers Equipped With NFC Technology

Recently last month, Samsung launched their new line of laser printers that feature NFC technology or well known as Near-Field Communication. It allows two supported devices to communicate and exchange data through touching one another, tapping, or getting them near with each other. This technology was once a very common feature in mobile devices particularly with smartphones. Now it has been applied to a non-mobile device such as a printer and surprisingly went into a hype.

Samsung's Xpress series includes three NFC supported printers which is the C410W, C460W and C460FW. The last model can print, scan, copy and fax, while the other two doesn't include fax functionality. More or less, these new range offers 18ppm (pages-per-minute) print speed in both mono and colour printing. With the NFC feature, these printers may be used to print files, documents and even web contents by simply letting your device touch the printer. Connecting you phone to the printer is easy, however you won't be able to transfer the data unless you download a  mobile print application and WiFi Direct, or any equivalent app.

Samsung Xpress C410W Series With NFC-Enabled Printing Technology

Samsung is not only good in manufacturing high-end mobile and handheld devices such as smartphones and tablets, we're also aware of the company's extreme line of printers competing in the print industry. Given that the company is primarily focusing in their production of mobile devices, which perhaps has a bigger market scope, Samsung's print technology seems to have a new offering.

Leaning towards home and office use, with a nice and seemingly intricate built, Samsung developed not just one or two, but three new printer models for small-capacity printing demands. The key features of these three is the integration of NFC technology which allows a higher level experience of mobile printing functionality. To those who are not familiar of NFC, it is mainly for smartphones and similar devices, it serves as the bridge between two devices to establish connection by bringing them close together. We can simply put it this way, two devices communicate over a short range thru NFC.

The three new printer models included in the Samsung Xpress C410W Series are, Xpress C410W color laser, Xpress C460W MFC color laser, and Xpress C460W color MFC (different from the second one). Both the last two models are multifunction printers, however their difference is that, the first C460W only offers print, scan, and copy functionality, while the last also offers the same, plus with fax. So to avoid confusion in this post, we call the last model as C460Wf, remember that it's only for the purpose of avoiding conflicts.

The C410W series is essentially built for personal home and small-office printing, added with a very reliable feature that allows direct printing capability from user's smartphones and NFC-enabled devices. All these three printers are sporting a professional-looking aesthetics, coated in glossy black and white chassis. Rated to print at 18ppm (pages-per-minute) in mono and 4ppm in colour mode, guess the speed is somewhat a sacrifice considering their set of features. Consumables are basically common, not too much to worry as they only need Samsung laser toner cartridges, but I think it'll be a really huge expense to keep them running especially when use mainly for photo printing.

Printing on the go or virtually anywhere either thru mobile devices, smartphones and tablets, as well as cloud printing, both of these technologies are bringing up the user experience particularly in printing, to its highest levels. Samsung SCX-3405FW Monochrome MFP Laser Printer

It's a rare occasion to feature a printer from Samsung, for whatever the reason there is, I won't dig much into it. Our today's featured printer is the Samsung SCX-3405FW Monochrome Laser Printer suitable for small-micro office environment. It supports Eco printing mode which aids on minimizing printing cost by reducing ink consumption with every print.

The printer's control panel composes of a bi-line 16-digit display, with alphanumeric keypad, directional keys, and Start/Stop buttons all below the LCD. From the front of the printer there's an aperture which serve as a the printer's output tray, while the curve on top of the scanner is dedicated for the ADF support.

It's 40-page automatic document feeder supplements the standard paper cassette which can hold a maximum of 150 sheets of plain paper, while the output tray holds 100 sheets. The SCX-3405FW's paper handling capacity defines the reason why it's intended for micro offices. People nowadays relies heavily on mobile printing, which isn't surprising since most of us got a handy tablet or smartphone to use for on the go printing. Speaking of which, the advantage of printing from virtually anywhere was such a great option for almost everyone who uses a printer. Mobile printing applications and software are now on the hype, hence we shouldn't be outdated to what's trending in the print industry.

Let's try to name a few mobile print apps for those who are not familiar with them. So if by any chance you want to try it out, you know what app to use.

HP ePrint, Samsung Mobile Print, Epson Connect, and many more, these are just some of the common apps we can make use of for mobile printing purposes. Some of those typically work with Android-powered devices, while others are conditional to work for iOS devices. Well if you want an app specifically for iOS powered phones, tablets and the likes, you can try Collobos FingerPrint. It supports Apple AirPrint technology for cloud printing services through DropBox and Evernote. In addition, both DropBox and Evernote provides cloud storage services over the internet.

Samsung Unveils the Xpress M2875 and ProXpress M4070 MFP Laser Printers

Samsung Electronics released a new range of SMB workhorse printers, the Xpress M2875 and ProXpress M4070 multifunction printers, both using laser technology. Specifically built for small-medium-sized businesses, featuring a number of nifty features, and supports an array of paper types for businesses that requires varying paper media printing. Included in the ProXpress M4070 series are five printers and four multi-function printers (MFPs), while for the Xpress M2875 series, there are only two printers and three MFPs.

The new line-up provides an enhance customer oriented printing solution with easy-to-use functionality, for better printing experience. Both the Xpress M2875 and ProXpress M4070 multifunction laser printers are powered by a 600MHz Cortex-A5 processor and boosted with ReCP (Rendering Engine for Clean Pages) technology for sharper text quality printout. Also, these two lineup feature a notably high-capacity memory for an extremely fast printing speed.

These two multifunction printers, the Xpress M2875 and ProXpress M4070, support thick paper medias, card-stock, and an array of paper types in a maximum of A4 up to A3 sized.

Doing some research for your plan to purchase a new printer? Well, you can still set that plan but if I were you, I would move it next year for the latest printer equipments will be out on 2013.
