Canon Color imageClass MF8280CW MFP Laser Printer

Canon Color imageClass MF8280CW MFP Laser Printer
Here's a follow up post for Canon Color imageClass MF8280CW, you may find the previous post here Canon's New MFP Printers - imageCLASS MF8280CW and imageCLASS MF8580CDW  which provides quite a brief information regarding the said model. While this post will focus mainly for the MF8280CW printer.

The Canon imageClass MF8280CW function as a printer, scanner and a stand alone copier or fax machine. Built perfectly for light-duty printing preferably for small office, workgroup or even as a home printer. It practically offers a set of features basically similar to one of its predecessor the MFP MF8080CW, albeit the MF8280CW sports faster print speed and above average printout quality. So essentially, it's much of an improved version of the MF8080CW, with a surprisingly lower price.

It supports an automatic document feeder, however there's no duplexing feature nor an option to have it. Paper handling capacity includes a 150-sheet main input tray which might serve enough for a micro office. The printer's minimal input capacity may tend to require paper sheet refilling if your office requires printing more than hundred pages per day. Its flatbed scanner comes with a 50-page ADF (automatic-document-feeder), which supports legal-size pages.

Considering its low paper handling capacity, and combining all its features, it's kind of unexpected that it weighs about 57.3 pounds. That's a bit heavy if you'll compare some competing models in its range that can offer the same features and functionality.

Interfaces for connectivity and printing options include a high-speed USB, an Ethernet and WiFi for either wired or wireless connection. The Canon imageClass MF8280CW has a quoted print speed of 14ppm (pages per minute) for both mono and color mode. It only requires four laser toner cartridges such as the general CYMK tanks.

Printout quality falls into average bracket, given that the MF8280CW used Canon's Pure Black and Auto Gradation Adjustment technology. Hence, a small office with light printing demand may get along well with the Canon Color imageClass MF8280CW MFP printer.

Canon PIXMA MX392 Office AIO Inkjet Photo Printer

Canon PIXMA MX392 Office AIO Inkjet Photo Printer
A replacement and not an upgraded model, that's how you'll probably describe it when you see the Canon PIXMA MX392 Office AIO printer. Why did I say so? Comparing the previous model Canon PIXMA MX372 to this new one, the MX392, you'll notice not just a slight nor minimal differences, as both offers the same features. However the output quality breaks the tie between these two printer models.

Dedicated for office printing needs, the MX392 offers an automatic document feeder plus the it serves as a standalone fax machine and copier as well. Using it as a home printer can be too easy for this machine. Talking about multi-functionality, it can print and fax from a PC, as well as scan multi-page documents. Scan to a PC with its letter-sized flatbed that supports legal-sized scanning of pages and files.

It features a 30-page automatic-document-feeder (ADF), supplemented with a 100-sheet capacity input tray for plain paper with no duplexing feature. The MX392 is somehow limited to light-duty printing, and unfortunately it doesn't support networking features hence it can't be used as a shared printer. Having said that, if it leans more into office printing, maybe it fits well enough for a micro office.

Canon rated the printer at 8.7 ipm (images-per-minute) in mono, and 5.0 ipm in coloured printing. Borderless photo printing supports a print speed up to 46 seconds per single sheet of 4"x6" sized photo. The MX392 offers a maximum printing resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi for that vivid and high quality photo printout quality.

It doesn't feature an intuitive touchscreen, instead it only has a two-line LCD display, with clearly labeled buttons around it, including the numeric keypad on its right side. For the printer's Canon ink cartridges requirement, CL-241 color ink and PG-240 black ink are both available in standard and high-capacity page-yield. Try to check the market to see their price, I suggest not to be surprise as Canon ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges are still on the expensive bracket.

Overall, the Canon PIXMA MX392 Office All In One printer is best suited for micro offices that require low-level printing capacity, and considerably not in need of network printing. If you only print, say, a couple of pages each day, yet scanning , copying  and fax are also a daily requirement, this printer might be a good choice considering its price.

Epson WorkForce WF-3540 All-In-One Inkjet Printer

Epson WorkForce WF-3540 All-In-One Inkjet Printer
Though a bit late for a review, here's the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 all-in-one inkjet printer. Partly, or should we say quite similar to some inkjet printers from the WorkForce family. Leaning towards providing a distinct printing solution for small offices or home-office, from which it serves essentially well. It can be setup as a shared printer in a small office or even at home, considering it's ample paper capacity. The WF-3520 can cope up in most ways with mid-to-high-duty printing needs.

As an all-in-one printer, basic features include: printing, scanning, and faxing on either directly from or to a computer. It also works well as a standalone fax machine or just a copier. Directly printing from a USB flash drive, or scanning to it are some of the printer's convenient features. In addition, it supports cloud printing through Epson Connect or Apple AirPrint, granted that the printer is connected over a network.

One of the WF-3540's strong point is its considerably generous paper handling capacity up to 500 sheets, which consists of two 250-sheet cassette drawer. Hence a user can load two different kinds of paper media, then switch to whichever is necessary to use, or let the printer switch at its own to the second drawer once the main cassette runs out of paper. Moreover, the WorkForce WF-3540 supports duplex (double-sided) printing, plus a 30-sheet ADF (automatic-document-feeder) which also works for scanning purposes.

A demandingly large enough 3.5inch color touchscreen LCD control panel will surely entice your eyes. Epson rated the printer at the same rate with WorkForce WF-3520 which offers a print speed of up to 15 ppm (pages-per-minute) for black, and 9.3 ppm for colour printing. It's actually reasonably fast if you'll look at its price.

When it comes to consumables, the WF-3540 works with DURABrite Ultra pigment-based inks, which Epson claimed that these inks are resistive to smudge, fade, and water. Unlike with some of the printers from the WF-series, this one only uses four individual ink cartridges, with an extra high-yield cartridges available. Printer cartridges from Epson are of high-quality, both with their laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges, and considerably less expensive.

Connectivity interfaces include: built-in WiFi for wireless printing, an Ethernet for wired networking, plus a Hi-Speed USB port for reading flash drives and memory cards.

For printer users out there who would like to switch to a new photo printer, the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 all-in-one inkjet printer is one reasonable choice.

Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Inkjet AIO Photo Printer

Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Inkjet AIO Photo Printer
In addition to Canon's latest models from the MG-series, here's the Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Inkjet AIO Photo printer, which is similar to MG4220 All-In-One printer, but of course this one comes with a slight increased in price. Whilst it offers the same functionality just like the MG4220, this new model provides better and reasonably substantial features.

One notable feature of the MG5420 is its capability to print on optical CD/DVD discs, which makes it really suitable for a home-office printer. Although it doesn't support wired networking, the built-in WiFi that comes with it compensates it all. A multifunction printer as it is, yet without fax, so you're limited to print, copy and scan. More so, you can directly scan to or print from a memory card, that's kind of really useful.

Its paper-handling capacity holds a 125-sheet input main tray, plus a 20-sheet photo paper tray, both enough to support light-duty printing in the office. There's also the duplex (double-sided) printing and copying functionality but without an ADF (automatic-document-feeder), which leads you to no choice of manually turning over the pages on the printer's flatbed.

With the MG5420's 3-inch color LCD display, aside from navigating the printer with it, previewing images from memory cards can be so easy. Canon rated the printer with print speed up to 15 ipm (images-per-minute) for black printing, and 10 ipm for coloured. Borderless photo printing can also be done at an approximate speed of 20 seconds per image.

The PIXMA MG5420 is equipped with 5 dye-based ink system, on which you only have to replace a cartridge that runs out of ink. Canon's pigment-based inks are truly exceptional in producing crisp and professional printouts may it be mono or color prints. Considerably, printer consumables from Canon which includes their laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges are comparably less expensive.

For a multifunction printer, the Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Photo Inkjet AIO serves really well for its purpose. High-quality text and photo printout, nice print speed, optical discs and duplex printing, all these for such a great value. This photo printer works suitably well for any home or home-office that requires light-capacity printing.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e-AIO Inkjet printer

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e-AIO Inkjet printer
Small business printers are steadily growing in numbers, and one latest inkjet business printer to include on our list is the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e-AIO Inkjet printer. A multifunction printer that can print, copy, scan and fax like all other all-in-one printers, but in a much worthy value. The Hewlett-Packard highlights the printer with its claimed lower cost-per-page that the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 can produced compared to other Inkjet printers in the market.

It features a resistive 4.3 inch touchscreen LCD display from which any user will find it easy to navigate the whole functions and system of the printer. Conveniently the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus is compatible with Windows and Mac OS (Operating System), suitable to work for both worlds. Also, an easy set-up guide can be accessed on the printer's touchscreen display for setting up wireless network. It also features duplex (double-sided) printing, copying and scanning that can reduce your paper usage in as much as 50%.

For paper handling capacity, there's an input tray the supports a maximum of 250 sheets capacity which can accommodate A4-sized medias. With a rated print speed of up to 20 ppm (pages-per-minute) for standard black printing, and about 16 ppm for coloured, plus a decent 25,000-pages monthly duty cycle. Any small-sized business or office will certainly be grateful to have one of this, considering that it can serve well as a network printer to share by a group.

Connectivity options include the following : Hi-Speed USB Host, Ethernet, WiFi and slots for Flash drive and Memory Cards. Users can print from their USB drives or memory cards directly to the printer, while for those who are always on the go, take advantage of HP's ePrint app that lets you print from virtually anywhere. Access, view, print or scan your files and photos by inserting these storage devices to the card slots just below the printer's front panel, it supports SD, MMC and Memory Sticks.

Set-up as well as maintenance can all be done in a very simple manner. Setting up the printer works like you've already been used to it, while installing or replacing the required cartridges can be done by pulling down the printer's front panel which tends to automatically move the tray for placing cartridges. HP inkjet cartridges and laser toner cartridges are exceptionally reliable and produces great printout quality. The HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e-AIO Inkjet printer requires 4 ink cartridges with three separate cartridges for Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, while the Black tank is a bit larger compared to the others.

For offices with a growing number of employees and requires a multifunction Inkjet printer that can serve as a shared printer over a network, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 can be included on your office wish list. Available at HP for an affordable price of $299.99.

Brother MFC-6490CW For Tabloid Size Printing

Brother MFC-6490CW
The Brother MFC-6490CW, the first printer in Brother's new Professional Series, pack with features and quality at a low price. Let's be straight, most of us are limiting ourselves to AIO printers that somehow lack what we occasionally need, simply because of the price. For a home printer user that sometimes requires a double duty AIO printer, this one will perfectly suits you.

It's typical for a multifunction printer to do printing, scanning, copying and fax sending, but what's good with MFC-6490CW is that it can do all this, over a network except copying of course. I know there's a lot of AIO and MFP printer models out there that's capable of the same feature, but considering its price that isn't bad. Also, it can attach a scanned document to an e-mail message either by using the e-mail program on a PC, or by sending the message directly by way of an in-house e-mail server or an ISP.

It may not be the most compact AIO printer with a dimension of 12.7 by 21.3 by 19.2 inches, but indeed it's the smallest one that's capable of printing and scanning tabloid size (11 x 17 inches). With its widescreen 3.3" Color LCD Display that lets you preview photos or print an index sheet. The Brother MFC-6490CW offers photocentric features that allows the user to print directly from PictBridge cameras, memory cards and USB keys.

Aside from the said features, it also include a 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF), which can handle up to tabloid-size documents; a tabloid-size flatbed. Plus additional paper drawers, each for 150 sheets and the another for 250. It's even flexible to keep two different kinds or sizes of paper loaded at once. When it comes to connectivity, it comes with both an Ethernet connection and a Wi-Fi support. For supplies and accessories, it uses Innobella High Yield ink cartridges, and Brother is known for cheap price ink cartridges and brother toner cartridges that suit your budget.

For the installation, it comes with a disc that has an automated installation program that runs in Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Vista 64bit, and Mac OS. Just load the printer paper, install all the cartridges and it's ready to go. If you prefer an AIO printer that can only print letter and legal size, then there's a lot of them that I can suggest, but if you need both letter-and-legal-size as well as tabloid-size printing then Brother MFC-6490CW is just perfect for your tight budget.
