What To Know About The Canon Easy Scroll Wheel?

A Little History

What To Know About The Canon Easy Scroll Wheel?
One of the great innovations added in the features of a printer which totally standout is the touch screen LCD. Before this piece of technology popped out, old versions of printing machines are only equipped with mono-backlit screens, while other doesn’t have any totally. Users back then are satisfied with it, but then the emergence of units with color LCD came out in the market and dominated the industry. Innovators weren’t still happy that they continued working on how to improve this component. Then, finally they introduced an LCD which is not only wide, colored and vibrant, but is also intuitive to touch commands.

Canon Easy-Scroll-Wheel

Now there’s another feature that many of us are not totally aware of its existence. Probably because we don’t have a unit that is equipped with such, or more likely we just don’t care. But this is something that we couldn’t just ignore especially for us people working in this industry.

What are we talking about here? Actually, it was not introduced just this year that in fact it’s been existing for a couple of years now so it’s not something new to be considered. The introduction of this small interface came along on the released of third generation PIXMA printer series which include the MP600. But it can also be found on some recent imageCLASS models such as the MG8450C - a color laser printer that uses Canon 117 cartridges. This high-end technology is known as the Easy-Scroll-Wheel controller which became part of the main control panel of a printer’s user interface.

Intuitive Access

The Easy-Scroll-Wheel is basically coupled with the touch-screen LCD. It works by simply rotating the wheel to your desired feature base on what’s available on the panel’s screen. The center key serves as the select button, while the surrounding black part works like the iPod’s click-wheel. Users can select and execute a function by browsing their fingers through the wheel, while keeping their eyes on the LCD. Sounds familiar? Yeah, because it is indeed similar to the technology used in iPod music players.

It’s a new style of how users can use the control panel in a much enjoyable way. It’s pretty easy to use, no complicated stuffs to think of at all, you just have to run your fingers on it like you’re using a mouse pointer.

Manufacturer’s Description

The Easy-Scroll-Wheel is a groundbreaking user interface developed by Canon to make the various functions of AIO printers easy and fun for anyone to use. Users can freely control the unit by gliding a finger around the wheel. The screen is linked to the wheel such that when it is spun, the menus revolve in the same way you move your fingers.

Know More About Photo Papers For Photographic Printing

We've made posts about what are the things to consider when buying an inkjet printer, the pros and cons of using it over a laser, as well as the market of inks. But aside from the consumables specifically ink cartridges that an inkjet printer requires in order to run, it also needs specialty papers. Considering that inkjets are more precisely capable of producing photo and high resolution prints. With the nature of photography, the wide variety of paper types is actually a great advantage for them to create transitions and developing their own style.

Known brands in the inkjet manufacturing business offer their own specialty papers, while there are these third-party manufacturers offering partly the same variety but may differ in quality as their counterpart. Glossy, semi-glossy, matte, fine, luster, these terms define a photo papers quality in terms of surface, color and coating.

Before making a choice on purchasing a photo paper, you should know first what type of ink your inkjet printer use. Is it using dye-base or pigment-base, cause this may affect the printout result along with the type of photo paper you used. Both paper and ink work together to produce the best possible output, quality and longevity of the image my either reduce or stay for long depending on the combination of these two.

In terms of photographic printing, two of the most competing paper types are the fine art papers and matte papers. Fine art papers are best to use if you want texture variation, however they're typically thicker and heavier than any other types. While matte papers are often use by many who preferred their printout to have the smoothest  surface. Matte papers have three major surface textures such as smooth, satin and velvet, the latter is not smooth but rather soft, while the last is more rough than the rest.

Photo papers may also vary in thickness and weight. Notice when purchasing a pack of paper supplies there's the term "GSM or gsm" which indicates the weight of each sheet expressed in grams per square meter. While thickness is simply expressed in millimeter (mm), but it doesn't mean that a thicker sheet of paper means it is much heavier. It can have the same weight as a thin paper, the only advantage of using thicker sheets is that they can take ink loads much greater.

To those who are using HP photo printer, they said that original HP inkjet cartridges only works best with HP photo papers. That's not always the case, third party photo papers are often capable of providing better output. They can even exceed the longevity of photographic quality that branded products may offer.

Laser Type Printers Can Also Be Used As Home Or Personal Printer

When it comes to cost in terms of purchasing printer consumables, inkjet type printers are more costly to run. Professionals who are into photographic printing certainly rely in colour printing, hence it's more appropriate on their part to use an inkjet. It's actually a part of their job to ignore the price of ink cartridges in the market, unless they would settle on sub par print quality. But assuming they would, do you think customers would be satisfied, your answer is precisely the thing they're avoiding. As much as possible, as an artist who's printing has been a task on a daily basis, quality should not be compromised. Aside from business purposes inkjets are also common as a personal printer. Home printing is indeed versatile, and a flexible printer that can accommodate such needs of all the family member is best suited for an inkjet. While a laser type printer leans toward providing high-level printing particularly to business and office establishments.

Lasers are mainly used for monochrome printing, text and non-graphical documents in black&white are the expertise of a laser printer. The fact that it can churn out prints in a much compelling speed and has more capacity, such factors are what a busy printing environment would demand. In addition, laser toner cartridges are generally retailed for much lower prices compared to ink cartridges. If you might notice, ink cartridges easily run empty of inks which results to buying replacements frequently. Whereas toner cartridges may run a hundred more print cycles before it gets empty, probably sounds more efficient.

The market of today's print industry is somehow peculiar, printer manufacturers are displaying brand new printers in their shelves, yet the consumers are more likely concern of the unit's cartridges. It's not even surprising, besides you'll just have to pay once for the machine, hence you should be mindful of the cost you will eventually face in the long run. This perhaps leads to a shift in wave where laser printers are now being used for personal and home printing. Since colour laser printers are commonly available and are capable of producing average color printout quality. Added those manufacturers that are targeting home printing needs by catering laser and LED type printers that can matched up with most high-end inkjets.

It's not that the era of inks is coming to an end, cause it never will, there are certain features a laser does not support that an inkjet can provide, and vice versa. Besides, we can't deny that even the latest laser printer in the market today can't even outperform what an inkjet printer is good at, especially when it comes to photo printing.

Canon PIXMA MG5450 AIO Photo Printer With Pigment And Dye-Based Black Inks

Canon PIXMA MG5450 AIO Photo Printer
The Canon PIXMA MG5450 AIO Photo printer is a low-profile printing buddy for home use. It's basically an essential machine for photo printing, especially if you want to print images on printable CD/DVD discs. Considering that it's an all-in-one device, however it doesn't support fax functionality nor an ADF (Automatic-Document-Feeder).

Just like its predecessors, the MG5450 adopts the glossy black matte finish, office-style aesthetics which is somehow common from the PIXMA family. Its design is partly different from the previous models from its range, especially its flatbed for scanning purposes. This printer features a full-color LCD screen display about 2.9 inch in size, with three keys below for menu navigation. The LCD is not a touchscreen though, with the ON and Home button at the left side of the front panel, while the other buttons like Black, Color, increase, reduce, 4-direction key are all at the right side.

Paper Handling Capacity
Its main input tray can hold a maximum of 125 plain paper sheets, supplemented with a photo paper tray for glossy medias. The output tray can be found just in front of the machine (the cover with the Canon logo)  which folds down and turns itself as an output tray. The MG5450 supports duplex (double-sided) printing which is considered as one of the printer's key-features.

Connectivity Interfaces
A high-speed USB cable host is included, as well as WiFi support for wireless printing. It features an easy access and stable connection between the machine and a PC or even to a tablet. Setup includes a pack of useful software from Canon such as My Image Garden and Creative Park Premium.

The PIXMA MG5450 offers a rated print speed of up to 15ppm (pages-per-minute) in mono and 10ppm in full-colour printing. Well, if you want a really fast inkjet printer that runs the same like a laserjet, you may consider the HP Officejet Pro Black and White 3610 and 3620 AIO Printers, they're also inkjet printers but with comparable speed like lasers. These two printers can only print monochrome documents, and require black HP inkjet cartridges alone.

It uses five Canon ink cartridges which consist of the standard CYM colors, plus a pigment-based and dye-based black ink tanks. Canon MG5450's consumables are all available in both standard and high-capacity cartridges.

Things To Know When Choosing Printer For Photographic Printing

Things To Know When Choosing Printer For Photographic Printing
Digital cameras, smartphones and tablets with high camera resolution are now commonly used for taking photographs in any occasion. Hence, home printers that are dedicated for photo printing, as well as machines for photographic printing business are getting much attention nowadays. Not to mention a lot of image-editing software and applications that are widely used by many such as Instagram, Hipstamatic,Camera+ and the likes. However, consumers aren't that much knowledgeable of which brand, model and all factors that must be considered when choosing a photo printer.

Cost is a very essential factor to think of, photographic printing whether at home or in the office, it can be costly. From the printer device itself, to the replacement inks or toners, plus the required photo-papers, all of these aren't that cheap. Although there are inkjet printers in the market with quite considerable in price, while some are generously affordable, typically they offer less features. One easy way to find the best or at least the most suitable photo printer is by simply searching the net for some checklist or rundown of the best inkjet photo printers, but make sure the post is up to date. Also, before you consider buying an inkjet, try to clear these things out to yourself:

Inkjet photo printers can have a lowest price of not below $150 and with less features. While the pricey models are tagged at $599 above. The question is, how much are you willing to spend for a printer? We're talking about the printer alone, consumables aren't included yet, and that's another story.

Ink cartridges either black or color, regardless of their brand, both generates an enormous expense in the long run. Prices vary depending on the model, but more likely it can range from $12.99 to $49.99 per cartridge. At HP shopping site, the lowest color HP inkjet cartridges come with a price tag of $11.99 (direct) and the most expensive goes way more than a hundred dollars.

Now let's talk about the features, what specifically do you expect a printer to do? Should you go for a single-function mainly for photo printing purposes, or consider a model that has a good set of features and functionality? Ideally, it's better to have multifunction device than to maintain several stand-alone machines.

If you want to print images in larger scales, buy a large-format printer and it would be better to consult someone or a tech guy before you choose a printer. Ask for the machine's cost-per-print and operating cost, that will give you an idea how much you'll have to spend in the long run.

Canon PIXMA MX392 Office AIO Inkjet Photo Printer

Canon PIXMA MX392 Office AIO Inkjet Photo Printer
A replacement and not an upgraded model, that's how you'll probably describe it when you see the Canon PIXMA MX392 Office AIO printer. Why did I say so? Comparing the previous model Canon PIXMA MX372 to this new one, the MX392, you'll notice not just a slight nor minimal differences, as both offers the same features. However the output quality breaks the tie between these two printer models.

Dedicated for office printing needs, the MX392 offers an automatic document feeder plus the it serves as a standalone fax machine and copier as well. Using it as a home printer can be too easy for this machine. Talking about multi-functionality, it can print and fax from a PC, as well as scan multi-page documents. Scan to a PC with its letter-sized flatbed that supports legal-sized scanning of pages and files.

It features a 30-page automatic-document-feeder (ADF), supplemented with a 100-sheet capacity input tray for plain paper with no duplexing feature. The MX392 is somehow limited to light-duty printing, and unfortunately it doesn't support networking features hence it can't be used as a shared printer. Having said that, if it leans more into office printing, maybe it fits well enough for a micro office.

Canon rated the printer at 8.7 ipm (images-per-minute) in mono, and 5.0 ipm in coloured printing. Borderless photo printing supports a print speed up to 46 seconds per single sheet of 4"x6" sized photo. The MX392 offers a maximum printing resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi for that vivid and high quality photo printout quality.

It doesn't feature an intuitive touchscreen, instead it only has a two-line LCD display, with clearly labeled buttons around it, including the numeric keypad on its right side. For the printer's Canon ink cartridges requirement, CL-241 color ink and PG-240 black ink are both available in standard and high-capacity page-yield. Try to check the market to see their price, I suggest not to be surprise as Canon ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges are still on the expensive bracket.

Overall, the Canon PIXMA MX392 Office All In One printer is best suited for micro offices that require low-level printing capacity, and considerably not in need of network printing. If you only print, say, a couple of pages each day, yet scanning , copying  and fax are also a daily requirement, this printer might be a good choice considering its price.

Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One Printer

Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One Printer
Here's the look-alike model of Epson Expression Premium XP-800, the sophisticated Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One printer. They are nearly identical if you'll try to compare them side by side. One distinct difference between these two models is the ink system they use. The XP-800 can be considered as the low-end version having 5-ink cartridges consisted of cyan, magenta, yellow, matte black and photo black ink. While the XP-850 uses 6-ink tanks which include the standard CYMK colors, plus a light cyan and light magenta inks. Check out my previous post about Epson Expression Premium XP-80 if you want to learn more about it.

Basically the XP-850 features a 3.5 inch touchscreen LCD display with gesture navigation and clearly labeled buttons on both sides. The front panel interface flips out when accessing the disc tray which allows printing on optical CD/DVDs. Both features are also found in the XP-800 including the connectivity options such as Ethernet and WiFi network support, so users can choose whether to setup the printer on either wired or wireless connection.

It can work as a standalone copier and as a fax machine as well. With the XP-850's ability to read memory card or USB storage device, complemented with the support for PictBridge, user can enjoy printing from and scanning to such devices. If the machine has no possible access to any PC, yet you need to print an image onto an optical disc, just scan the cover image through Copy command, then you may now print it on a disc.

Paper handling capacity for some reason is still limited to a 100-sheet input tray, plus a 20-sheet photo paper tray fro glossy media. The XP-850 features an automatic duplexer for double-sided printing and copying. Since the scanner is fairly limited to letter-size documents, you can use the 30-page ADF (automatic document feeder) instead to scan and fax legal-sized files and pages.

With the ISO standard, Epson rated the printer at 9.5 ppm (pages per minute) print speed for mono, and 9.0 ppm for colour printing. Note that when the XP-850 is set to Best Photo mode, you might notice a decrease in speed.

As for the printer's consumables, luckily I saw a review that stated some nice figures regarding the cost of each cartridges required for XP-850. Both standard and high-capacity ink tanks are available with a slight difference in cost. A single standard-capacity black ink would roughly cost $10.99 yielding 240 pages, while its high-capacity counterpart cost $19.99 and yields 500 pages. That's notably cheaper compared to the HP Deskjet 2510 inks, as black hp inkjet cartridges replacement will cost you $22 for each HP61 standard yield ink.

If you prefer the same features but looking for a considerably less expensive model, I would recommend the XP-800. However, the XP-850 offers a well-packed set of features that are worthy enough for a slight increased in price. Overall the Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One printer is a great value color photo printer.

HP DeskJet 2510 All In One Color Inkjet Printer

HP DeskJet 2510 All In One Color Inkjet Printer
HP's Deskjet series comes with a new mid-range color AIO inkjet printer, the HP Deskjet 2510. It's quite identical with the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2510, the only difference is actually their color cause the later comes in black. This printer model provides simplicity in all means, which makes it an easy to use device as a home printing buddy.

The Deskjet 2510 supports a limited connectivity interface, such that a USB cable is your only resort to connect it to a PC, with no WiFi nor Ethernet. Whilst setup is easy, just plug it and it's good to print. It features an LCD screen small enough to display the number of prints and copies, complemented with six buttons - ON/OFF, Scan, Cancel, Monochrome, Color, and Enlarge/Reduce. The Enlarge/Reduce functionality can be used for enlarging copies up to 50%, or reduce it by 50%.

HP rated the Deskjet 2510 with a print speed up to 20 ppm (pages per minute) in draft black mode, while it can hit 16 ppm in draft color printing. It's considerably fast when compared to most printers within the same price range, plus it offers a print resolution of up to 600 dpi (monochrome). In addition, using the printer's resizing functionality, a user can enlarge a 4:6 sized photo in to A4 max size.

It's actually a great value machine if you're more into printing photos and images, or full-color files. Output quality was fairly good considering the machine's price, that's why it's kind of recommended for full page photograph printing, although you might think of the cost. The Deskjet 2510 uses Thermal Inkjet technology, thus HP inkjet cartridges replacement can be typically costly.

Paper handling was also a bit short, its input tray can handle 60 sheets of plain paper or 20 sheets of photo paper, while its output tray can only hold 25 paper sheet. Though it also supports printing in several types of media including envelopes, index cards, letter-sized glossy photo papers, etc.

The HP Deskjet 2510 AIO inkjet printer is considerably a good choice, it's literally low-priced, offering a good set of functionality and features, low print cost except for the ink cartridges replacement, and just don't mind the lack of WiFi networking cause if you don't need to print wirelessly, this one is really of great value. Since we can't go into much details as my knowledge about the printer was awfully limited as of now, I'll try to keep you posted for updates or any news regarding this Deskjet model.  .

HP Photosmart 7520 AIO Inkjet Color Photo Printer

HP Photosmart 7520 AIO Inkjet Color Photo Printer
Cloud connectivity welcomes the new HP Photosmart 7520 AIO Inkjet Color Photo Printer. Works as a copier, printer, scanner and fax, plus its key features that include : cloud printing, remote accessibility, and wireless connectivity.

It's actually more than an upgrade version of the HP Photosmart 7510, consider it a replacement model of the previous one. The HP Photosmart 7520 also allows access to Hewlett-Packard's very own ePrint Center applications via the printer's generously large touchscreen LCD display about 4.33 inch in size located at the left side of its front panel. At the far left of the display appears two buttons one for going back to home screen, and another one for returning to the previous page.

With a professional-looking aesthetics from the Photosmart family, its smooth, matte finished glossy black chassis complements perfectly with any working environment. Though its dimension is quite large to share a desk space in the office, at 17.9 inches (length) by 17.7 inches (height) and 7.7 inches(width).

Paper handling capacity fairly low which includes an input tray that can handle 125 sheets of paper loaded at the bottom, plus a 20-sheet tray on top for photo paper media. The Photosmart 7520 also features an automatic-documnet-feeder with a limited capacity of up to 25 sheets. While the output tray can handle at least a maximum of 50 sheets, exceeding to it will tend the receiving belt to clog. With all these quite low capacities, it must be clear by now that it can't be used for heavy-duty printing demands.

HP rated the printer with a print speed up to 14 ppm for monochrome and 10 ppm for color printing, both in ISO standards.Connectivity interfaces include a USB 2.0 port installed at the far lower front, and WiFi for wireless connectivity which you literally must get used to since Ethernet is not supported. Eliminating the Ethernet printing option might be a strategy to push the users to suit with cloud printing.

The HP Photosmart 7520 uses 5 ink tanks including the standard CYMK inks, plus a special photo black ink cartridge. Its consumables (HP 564 ink cartridges), together with the printer's maximum print resolution at about 9600 x 2400 dpi (dots-per-inch) can deliver precise photo printout quality. HP inkjet cartridges and laser toner cartridges are kind of much expensive among the other brands but considering the outputs produced, it's fairly considerable.

Canon PIXMA Pro-100 Professional Photo Inkjet Printer

Canon PIXMA Pro-100 Professional Photo Inkjet Printer
Canon PIXMA Pro-100 Professional Photo Inkjet Printer
Photography enthusiast and similar professions should consider looking at Canon's little junior, in line with the PIXMA family, Canon's new photo inkjet PIXMA Pro-100 printer. If you definitely need professional-looking photo printouts, this one can deliver much of anyone's expectations. At a maximum size of 13 x 19 inches of photo prints, with above-average output quality, it's certainly a good choice.

The Pro-100 doesn't offer an LCD screen, however the old school style of previewing machine information such as ink level can be viewed using the PC unit where the printer is connected. The lack of display has been compensated by its network-ready connectivity interfaces including an Ethernet and USB for wired connection, as well as WiFi support if you prefer wireless connection. While it's also compatible with PictBridge, unfortunately cable is not included. Also, this printer allows printing CD/DVD printable discs for vivid image covers.

Canon PIXMA Pro-100 has a quoted print speed of up to 51 seconds per 8" x 10" or A4 sized medias, and 1:30 per 11" x 14" or A3 sized medias. With a maximum color printer resolution about 4800 x 2400 dpi (dots-per-inch), impressive enough as a claimed professional photo inkjet printer. Additionally, users may take advantage of borderless printing, as well as photo and gray-scale printing at the most optimal level.

If your printing needs are mostly plain text, say roughly 70%, using this kind of photo printer for that purpose is totally a luxury, considering the quality it can deliver in terms of photo printing, then what more to plain text alone. It comes with a generous set of ink tanks, precisely 8 dye-based ink cartridges which includes the standard CMYK, plus one each of photo magenta, photo cyan, gray and light gray inks. That sounds a hefty expense by the time your printer runs out of ink, but with Canon ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges, customers get quality worthy for what they spent.

This printer is equipped with two paper trays which consist of an auto-sheet-feeder that handles either 150 sheets of plain paper or 20 sheets of 4" x 6" photo paper or 10 sheets of letter sized medias. While the other tray is a manual feeder that feeds thick photo/glossy paper of all sizes, one at a time.

Photos and graphics printout qualities are above par for a PIXMA photo inkjet printer. With the nice aesthetics of Canon PIXMA Pro-100, a nearly fast print speed, 8 tanks of ink, and professional-looking output quality, it's actually a well matched if you compared it to some top-tier photo inkjet printers from its range.

Epson WorkForce WF-3540 All-In-One Inkjet Printer

Epson WorkForce WF-3540 All-In-One Inkjet Printer
Though a bit late for a review, here's the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 all-in-one inkjet printer. Partly, or should we say quite similar to some inkjet printers from the WorkForce family. Leaning towards providing a distinct printing solution for small offices or home-office, from which it serves essentially well. It can be setup as a shared printer in a small office or even at home, considering it's ample paper capacity. The WF-3520 can cope up in most ways with mid-to-high-duty printing needs.

As an all-in-one printer, basic features include: printing, scanning, and faxing on either directly from or to a computer. It also works well as a standalone fax machine or just a copier. Directly printing from a USB flash drive, or scanning to it are some of the printer's convenient features. In addition, it supports cloud printing through Epson Connect or Apple AirPrint, granted that the printer is connected over a network.

One of the WF-3540's strong point is its considerably generous paper handling capacity up to 500 sheets, which consists of two 250-sheet cassette drawer. Hence a user can load two different kinds of paper media, then switch to whichever is necessary to use, or let the printer switch at its own to the second drawer once the main cassette runs out of paper. Moreover, the WorkForce WF-3540 supports duplex (double-sided) printing, plus a 30-sheet ADF (automatic-document-feeder) which also works for scanning purposes.

A demandingly large enough 3.5inch color touchscreen LCD control panel will surely entice your eyes. Epson rated the printer at the same rate with WorkForce WF-3520 which offers a print speed of up to 15 ppm (pages-per-minute) for black, and 9.3 ppm for colour printing. It's actually reasonably fast if you'll look at its price.

When it comes to consumables, the WF-3540 works with DURABrite Ultra pigment-based inks, which Epson claimed that these inks are resistive to smudge, fade, and water. Unlike with some of the printers from the WF-series, this one only uses four individual ink cartridges, with an extra high-yield cartridges available. Printer cartridges from Epson are of high-quality, both with their laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges, and considerably less expensive.

Connectivity interfaces include: built-in WiFi for wireless printing, an Ethernet for wired networking, plus a Hi-Speed USB port for reading flash drives and memory cards.

For printer users out there who would like to switch to a new photo printer, the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 all-in-one inkjet printer is one reasonable choice.

Epson Expression Photo XP-750 MFP Photo Printer

Epson Expression Photo XP-750 MFP Photo Printer
Epson just recently launched a new multifunction inkjet printer which is the Expression Photo XP-750 MFP photo printer. Pretty much alike with XP-700 as its predecessor, this latest enhanced model comes with more exciting features and functionality. Considered as one of the compact MFP printer from Epson, the Photo XP-750 is yet terrible for its size, and much more with the higher-end version of it which is the XP-850.

Having the exact same weight and size just like the XP-700, this compact printer features a fully touchscreen 8.8cm LCD display on the front panel. Through its wide touchscreen, printing, copying and scanning can never be too easy with the help of three home screen icons dedicated for each said functionality. Create mono or colour photocopies, print directly from a flash drive or memory card, or even scan thru emails, all these can be done at the touch of your fingertips.

One of its drawback is the printer's limited paper handling capacity, the input tray can only hold up to 100 sheets. For a reason, the input tray seated just below the output tray, which makes it a bit difficult to get your hands into it. The support for WiF interface compensates this con, but still it would be better to expand the printer's maximum input capacity.

Print speed wise, Epson rated the printer at 12 ppm (pages per minute) on both mono and colour printing. Now if there's a drawback of course there is a highlight, that is the support for duplex (double sided) printing, which brings the print speed a tad slower by 5 ppm. When printing in full color photo documents, the XP-750 can at least provide a fair enough printing speed.

As one of the Epson's new photo printer, the Expression Photo XP-750 MFP can provide more than sharp, crisp and vivid printout quality of photos and images. Unlike the XP-700 that has a dedicated black photo ink cartridge, this one specializes in full color printing thus it eliminates the said ink. Replacing the black cartridge with two extra inks - Light Magenta and Light Cyan, which results to a more precise quality. In fact, even without the black photo ink cartridge, the Epson XP-750 serves more advantage. I think Epson deals on specializing with inks rather than the market for laser toner cartridges, but I'm not even sure on the matter.

If you want a real tough photo printer from Epson, the Expression Photo XP-750 MFP photo printer is considerably the one to suggest. Especially if you're looking for a new model from the XP-series that can provide you that high-quality and sharp full color printouts. With regards to the printer's limited paper input capacity, I'm not sure if there's any optional tray which can be purchased.

Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Inkjet AIO Photo Printer

Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Inkjet AIO Photo Printer
In addition to Canon's latest models from the MG-series, here's the Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Inkjet AIO Photo printer, which is similar to MG4220 All-In-One printer, but of course this one comes with a slight increased in price. Whilst it offers the same functionality just like the MG4220, this new model provides better and reasonably substantial features.

One notable feature of the MG5420 is its capability to print on optical CD/DVD discs, which makes it really suitable for a home-office printer. Although it doesn't support wired networking, the built-in WiFi that comes with it compensates it all. A multifunction printer as it is, yet without fax, so you're limited to print, copy and scan. More so, you can directly scan to or print from a memory card, that's kind of really useful.

Its paper-handling capacity holds a 125-sheet input main tray, plus a 20-sheet photo paper tray, both enough to support light-duty printing in the office. There's also the duplex (double-sided) printing and copying functionality but without an ADF (automatic-document-feeder), which leads you to no choice of manually turning over the pages on the printer's flatbed.

With the MG5420's 3-inch color LCD display, aside from navigating the printer with it, previewing images from memory cards can be so easy. Canon rated the printer with print speed up to 15 ipm (images-per-minute) for black printing, and 10 ipm for coloured. Borderless photo printing can also be done at an approximate speed of 20 seconds per image.

The PIXMA MG5420 is equipped with 5 dye-based ink system, on which you only have to replace a cartridge that runs out of ink. Canon's pigment-based inks are truly exceptional in producing crisp and professional printouts may it be mono or color prints. Considerably, printer consumables from Canon which includes their laser toner cartridges and ink cartridges are comparably less expensive.

For a multifunction printer, the Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Photo Inkjet AIO serves really well for its purpose. High-quality text and photo printout, nice print speed, optical discs and duplex printing, all these for such a great value. This photo printer works suitably well for any home or home-office that requires light-capacity printing.

If you want to have a new photo printer then consider checking what Canon PIXMA iP7220 Inkjet Photo Printer has to offer. But you have to take note that this one doesn't offer a wired network support, instead the built-in WiFi will only be your option when connecting to a network. One notable feature of the iP7220 printer is that it supports printing on optical discs. The Canon PIXMA iP7220 Inkjet photo printer provides a competitive set of features which can be useful enough as a personal or home-office printer.

Although it doesn't offer much paper handling capacity, for a home-office printer, its main tray handles 125-sheet input capacity, and is supplemented by a 20-sheet photo paper tray. Don't take this printer too small, behind its compact size and built are noteworthy features that makes it awesome. In addition to its functionality to print on optical discs, it also supports Duplex (double-sided) printing feature which can help you reduce paper usage by half.

When it comes to speed, Canon rated the printer at 15 ppm (pages per minute) for standard black printing, and 10 ppm for coloured printing. The PIXMA iP7220 supports border-less printing with its photo paper tray that can handle 4"x6" sized media. With a notably high print resolution about 9600x2400 color dpi (dots-per-inch) according to Canon's provided printer spec.

The printer supports 5-color ink system which consists of 4 dye-based ink cartridges plus a pigment-based black ink cartridges for exceptional printout quality. Thus the quality of every printout you made with the Canon PIXMA iP7220 photo printer is truly of par with the most recent inkjet photo printers that were released by other manufacturers. Canon ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges may be a bit hefty in price but when it comes to quality, you can absolutely rely on their products.

If you want to send prints from your iOS devices, you need to install Canon Easy PhotoPrint which is available on App Store, while for Android powered devices, try checking for the app on Google Play. For printer users who always demand for the best graphic quality, and considerably fast print speed, Canon PIXMA iP7220 Inkjet Photo Printer is one of your good choice.

Canon PIXMA MG6320 Wireless InkJet Photo AIO Printer

Canon PIXMA MG6320 Wireless InkJet Photo AIO Printer
PIXMA printers are raining this year, if you're looking for a bountiful selection of high class AIO (all-in-one) printers, then Canon might have not just one, ten or twenty, but more than what you have expected. Ranging in very much reasonable prices and boasted with great features, everyone would brag about these printers. Canon, the printer giant in Japan, released a wave of premium quality business and personal photo printers from last year and still continuing the tide this 2013.

In addition to our recent post - Canon PIXMA MG6370 and PIXMA MG5470 Office AIO Inkjet Printers, on which we introduced two latest model of printers from the Canon MG-series. One would described it as a sophisticated-looking printer, photo-centric, multifunctional and creates exceptional printouts, that's the Canon PIXMA MG6320. When it comes to finest-quality printouts of photos or images, Canon printers serve a very well performance, that's not surprising since you deserved what you paid for.

Canon PIXMA MG6320 Wireless InkJet Photo AIO printer, the replacement printer model for MG6220 which was released back in 2011. Built with an imaging system consisting of six ink tanks for better and professional photo printout quality. It can serve as a light-duty or an all-around printer in most offices, capable enough to deliver printout quality that can compete with its predecessors.

Unfortunately the MG6320 offers no ADF (automatic document feeder), thus printing multiple pages with this printer will somehow be more laborious. But considering its dimension at (HWD) 5.9x18.4x14.6 inches I guest that's a bit acceptable. Featuring an automatic fall-and-extend front panel that also serves as the output tray when printing files, while you can close it up after, or when the printer is not in use.

Sophisticated and high-tech as it is, the PIXMA MG6320 features a touch-sensitive LED button that acts intelligently by displaying appropriate functions on the screen, related to your task. Unlike the typical buttons you might have seen from other printers, Canon embedded the button controls into the lid of the printer's scanner, except for the POWER button and the five-way navigation wheel. It's also equipped with a 3.5 inch touch screen LCD display.

Connectivity interfaces doesn't include a USB port, although it supports other types of memory devices - SD, MS Duo, and CF, a user can still connect to the printer via Wi-Fi,  Ethernet and through the printer's USB cable. Another notable feature of MG6320 is the functionality to print labels on printer-compatible CD/DVD surfaces. My Image Garden is also included in the printer's supported software.

Setting up the printer would be so easy for most printer users, as the LCD displays the entire process that will guide you all throughout the installation process, even the proper replacement of its ink cartridges. The ink system holds four standard colors-CYMK, plus an extra-large black pigment and gray ink cartridges. These technology isn't something new on most latest inkjet photo printers, while for laser type printers that use laser toner cartridges the application of this technology is yet unknown.

All in all, if you're small business or office just needs a minimal-printing capacity, the PIXMA MG6320 Wireless InkJet Photo AIO printer can serve more than enough when it comes to professional business-style printouts and performance.

Canon PIXMA iP7250 Single Function Inkjet Photo Printer

Canon PIXMA iP7250 Single Function Inkjet Photo Printer
Single function printer's are still putting up a good market in the print industry, and to prove it, here's the recently launched Canon PIXMA iP7250 single function color inkjet printer. About a few weeks ago, in the CES 2013 International trade-show, Canon released a new range of PIXMA printers with boasted features and budget friendly cost. Now this one, although it may seem as a redesign desktop photo printer from Canon, well it comes in a more decent price while offering a pack of features.

The Canon PIXMA iP7250 photo printer comes with a redesign aesthetic and built, having a dimension of (HxWxD) 128 x 451x 368 , with a few adjustments to provide a better printing experience for the user. Locate the button at the right side of the printer's front panel, pressing it will fold the panel down with a support that swings out from the lower edge, this is for the printer's paper support. A conventional printer requires the user to manually  flip the paper support, but the PIXMA iP7250 brings all the ease for its user.

It comes with two paper trays jam inside to serve a better space, one supporting a 125 sheet of A4 size paper that serves as the main tray and the other fits 20 sheet of photo paper. Flipping over the photo paper tray reveals a CD/DVD carrier clipped to its underside just above the main tray. It can be used to print images on printer-compatible coated CD/DVDs.

The PIXMA iP7250's highly noted features include, wireless connection with direct print, Duplex (double-sided) printing, and works with iOS, Android as well as AirPrint enable devices. Aside from the wireless connectivity that it offers, it also comes with a USB port. Users have the convenience to print without a PC, instead they can use their smartphones and tablets that are capable of wireless printing, and print through Canon's Easy Photo Print application. It also comes with an enhanced print resolution of about 9600 x 2400 dpi, plus a quoted print speed of 15 ppm (black printing) and 10 ppm (colour printing).

The Canon PIXMA iP7250 Inkjet Photo Printer is equipped with 5 ink cartridges which can be access by flipping up the printer's top panel. Unlike some other conventional inkjet printers that only use a set 4 cartridges, the PIXMA iP7250 has a photo blank ink cartridge and a pigment blank cartridge, both serve a specific purpose, the latter is used for plain paper printing and the other one is for high resolution images. Canon ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges price ranged from $20.99 up to more than $200. The printer is also equipped with LED indicators that signals the user whenever a cartridge is either improperly installed or empty and needs to be replaced.
